Is it just us, or does Benny Blanco just keep finding new ways to embarrass his wife? First, it was the whole dirty foot debacle, and now, he’s getting criticized all over again after he was asked to name the most beautiful celebrity and his response wasn’t Selena Gomez. Oh, and she was sitting right there with him when he said that. No matter what he actually thinks, shouldn’t his answer have been easy?!
Benny wasted no time declaring his celebrity crush.
The moment played out when Selena was a guest on Benny’s podcast, Friends Keep Secrets. During a conversation about the hottest celebrities, Benny decided to share who he thinks is the hottest.
This should have been a slam dunk for Benny, who could have said his wife’s name without a second thought and earned all the brownie points that come with it. But instead, he chose to say that the hottest celebrity is Margot Robbie… who looks absolutely nothing like Selena, by the way.
She looked truly taken aback by his answer in that moment, asking, “Where the f— did that come from?”
The conversation was all about if someone’s partner would be jealous if someone hot played their love interest in a movie, and Selena’s reaction to what Benny said pretty much summed up her feelings on the topic. Can we blame a girl, though?
Fans are embarrassed for Selena.
Fans did not go easy on Benny when discussing the viral moment on TikTok.
“Is there one good thing about this dude? Like genuinely,” one person commented.
Another wrote, “They probably fought about this when their friends left.”
Another person added, “He literally just wanted to talk about Margot Robbie.”
It would have been really interesting to see what Selena said to Benny when they were done recording the podcast and the cameras weren’t rolling.
Benny has said he “worships” his wife before, so why wasn’t she his answer?
While talking to Interview magazine last year, Benny admitted that he’s “so scared” Selena will wake up one day and change her mind about him, adding, “I worship the ground she walks on and I feel like she’s the same way to me.”
If that’s how he really feels, you’d think that Selena definitely would have been his answer.
But maybe, since they’re married, he doesn’t see Selena as an option when it comes to celebrity crushes. After all, we all have them — even the married folk. And as one TikToker commented, when you’re a celebrity yourself, talking about these kinds of crushes becomes a different conversation altogether… though in this context, that may have only meant that Benny dug himself in deeper.
Either way, he needs to leave Margot out of this. She didn’t ask to be involved!
