Peek Inside Betty White’s Dreamy $7.95 Million Carmel-by-the-Sea Home

Three months after Betty White died at 99 years old, her California home is for sale — and it's one incredible property. As TopTenRealEstateDeals.com reported, Betty's Carmel-by-the-Sea home has been listed for sale at $7.95 million. Boasting 3,621 square feet of space, three stories, four bedrooms, and four and a half bathrooms, the house itself is a good size — and just wait until you see the views of the Pacific Ocean from nearly every room in the mansion.

According to the site, Betty and her husband, Allen Ludden, built the house in 1978, and she lived there until her death on December 31, 2021. Both inside and out, the house is absolutely gorgeous. The beach is in Betty's backyard (and so is a perfectly maintained garden), and the rooms all offer plenty of natural light.

Here's a peek at the outside of Betty's home — how gorgeous is this? Of course, this is the back of the house, which looks out onto the ocean and the garden, but we love that it has so many windows. The natural light in this house must be plentiful.

Even though having the ocean right in your backyard is definitely something to brag about, we can't discount this gorgeous garden. This had to have been such a peaceful spot for her to relax, and we have to imagine it made a great setting for entertaining company, too.

Like Being on Vacation

When Betty traveled, we imagine she'd be hard-pressed to stay somewhere with a view better than the one she got from her own living room. Here, she has plenty of sunlight and a full view of the ocean, and she could curl up in a chair with the fireplace keeping the room cozy all at the same time. What more could anyone want?

More Places To Sit

This house certainly has plenty of seating areas, and here's another, complete with even more dreamy ocean views. With the sun going down, it's almost like this room is glowing, and it seems like the perfect place to hang out and enjoy being outside without actually having to be outside.

Sitting Down for Dinner

What a place to host dinner parties in! Though we don't get to see much of the kitchen, it looks like the open floor plan allows for dining just feet away from where all the cooking magic happens. That built-in alcove for seating on the wall? Perfection.

A Comfy Bedroom

This roomy master bedroom offers plenty of space not just for the traditional bedroom furniture but also for a little seating, too — and more windows to take in those ocean views. Waking up here to see the waves on the shore would be nothing short of magical.

The Master Bathroom

Is it just us, or is this bathroom reminding anyone else of the Golden Girls aesthetic? Maybe it's those turquoise countertops, or maybe it's the curtains — but either way, there's more than enough natural lighting to sit down at that vanity and flawlessly apply makeup.

The Master Bedroom at Sunset

Just in case anyone was wondering if the view from the bedroom was just as magical at sunset as it is while the sun is shining … don't worry, it's even better. The view creates such a relaxing, romantic atmosphere. What could be a better room to wind down in?

In this photo, taken from the other side of the master bedroom, we can see that this room also has a fireplace, making it even better than we originally thought. This space is huge — possibilities for this bedroom are truly endless.

This photo gives us a good idea of the home's layout, along with another look at how open the floor plan really is. The wood paneling on the walls and the ceiling is so pretty, especially with those beams. It's simple, sure, but that's why it's so beautiful.

A Cozy Home Office

Need to get some work done? Maybe want to write a letter? This room ought to do it for you. Not only do the beautiful views continue here, but there's also plenty of built-in shelf space along the wall for storage (or even just to use for decor).

If you're looking for a home with an area to entertain that will seriously impress, this is the one for you! There's enough room on that oceanside patio to throw a party, and we can't imagine how gorgeous it must be all lit up at night.

The House From a Distance

This photo really allows you to see how close Betty was to her neighbors, even if it didn't seem like it up close — and exactly how close she was to the ocean. That's just a quick walk to the beach, which should be a huge selling point for the next owners.

A Peaceful Place

At first glance, Betty's living room looks a bit small, but here, we can see that first photo is a bit deceiving. It's actually a lot bigger than we thought, and it has space for plenty of seating for guests who want to come over and take in the spectacular ocean views.
