Fans are praising Beyoncé for making a couple’s baby sex reveal extra special. During the May 28 concert on her Cowboy Carter tour, Beyoncé received a special request from fans in the audience. Their sign stated that they wanted help with their baby’s sex reveal.
Beyoncé noticed the sign while on stage.
At the New Jersey show, Beyoncé saw the fans’ sign and started reading it aloud. “‘First born, Carter,’” she said, reading the sign. “‘Gender reveal. Right now? I’ll be back.'”
Later on that night, Beyoncé returned to help the couple with their request.
People shared footage of the sweet moment on social media.
Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, was one of the people who obtained footage of the interaction and shared it on Instagram. “Wow!!!!” Tina captioned her post. “Who takes the time and does a gender reveal when they are wet and cold? I was like Girlllllll you gonna get sick.”
In the video that Tina shared, Beyoncé took the envelope from the couple and started opening it on stage. “I had to come back to you. I didn’t want to rush this, because this is important,” she said in the video. “A once-in-a-lifetime gender reveal. I had to take my time.”
Once she opened the envelope, she revealed a piece of paper that read, “COWBOY.” Beyoncé, who is a mom of three, congratulated the couple.
Fans praised Beyoncé for being a ‘generous and gracious woman.’
To many, the fact that Beyoncé took the time to do this during one of her shows was super sweet. “The fact that she said she’ll be back and she came back to do the gender reveal shows how big her heart is and why she is the queen!” one fan wrote in response to Tina’s post.
“Why am I CRYING over this,” another fan wrote on Reddit.
A third commented: “I love to see cute little things like this. Concerts that are painfully rehearsed just feel less special so it’s nice when artists do little things like this.”
Others pointed out that it’s hard to compete with a sex reveal done by Beyoncé.
Lately, lots of parents have been trying to make their gender reveals extra special. However, most don’t have the opportunity to get help from Beyoncé.
“’Beyoncé told my mama what gender I was’ that’s gone be a flexxxx,” one fan pointed out.
Another wrote, “Show me a better gender reveal than this. I’ll wait.”
“I would play this video on that child’s birthday every year,” a third fan commented.
To another fan, there’s actually a different reason why this gender reveal was better than the others. “This is so cute and joyful, also happy to see a gender reveal make the news that isn’t about something exploding or going terribly wrong,” they shared.
But some called it ‘cringe.’
Others wondered why people were celebrating a “gender reveal” to begin with, even with Beyoncé involved.
“Do people still support ‘gender reveals’?” one person questioned. “Don’t we just wish for healthy children and celebrate when pregnancies are as painless as possible?”
Another person wrote, “Beyoncé doing the reveal live on stage during her transcendental tour is probably one of the best possible versions of a gender reveal and I still find it cringe.”
