Bianca Censori Insists Kanye West Didn’t Make Her Show Up Naked

In 2025, when Bianca Censori took off her coat and exposed her body on the Grammys red carpet, a lot of critics blamed her husband, Kanye West. Some took issue with the fact that Bianca exposed her entire body by wearing a totally sheer dress while her husband stood beside her fully clothed. When Ye shared photos of his wife in the completely see-through dress on social media, people accused him of “exploiting” Bianca and “forcing” her to be naked in front of everyone.

But during a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Bianca explained that she wanted to be naked. And if people don’t understand it, she doesn’t really care.

She said she and Ye collaborated, but her obsession with nudity was her own.

So, maybe Ye was involved in helping her choose her outfits. But she clarified that it’s because she values his opinion, not because he was forcing her to do anything that she didn’t want to do. “I wouldn’t be doing something I didn’t want to do,” she told Vanity Fair. “Me and my husband would work on my outfits together. So it was like a collaboration, it was never ‘I was being told to do something.'”

But her outfits aren’t the only thing that has made people suspicious. The fact that Bianca was so quiet throughout all of this also sparked concerns about her wellbeing. Bianca thinks part of the reason her Grammys look got so much attention was because she seemed so mysterious. “I’m trying not to sound like I’m bragging, but it is not a position that anybody in time has ever had that much visibility without speech,” she told the publication. “If it was just nudity, a lot of people would have that. But it also proves in a time that was so overexposed and vulnerable, that mystery still has power.”

People don’t have to understand it.

Although Bianca worked with Ye to choose her controversial outfits, she also had “an obvious obsession with nudity.” She explained, “I was naked everywhere. I didn’t detach with it at any point. I consistently showed the same imagery over and over and over again. I live my artwork.”

And if people don’t understand her art or see her for who she really is? Bianca said, “I don’t really care. I always just think, They’ll get it someday. And if they don’t, they don’t. As long as I’m able to express myself to my full potential, that’s all that matters to me.”

She seems very aware that people don’t always perceive her or her artwork in the way that she intended. “I’ve never gone home and cried myself to sleep over anything anyone has said, because it interests me when the reaction is not the intention, because that’s just what lives within everybody,” she explained. “I was explaining this to somebody once, and he said, ‘Well, your intention was lost.’ It’s okay that the intention was lost. It doesn’t matter. I was able to express myself. That’s all that mattered.”
