After Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s shocking split, it really feels like any celebrity relationship could come to an end. So, as Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton continue to spend time apart, people have naturally started wondering if that means they’re dealing with their own marital problems. Gwen and Blake tied the knot in 2021 after meeting on The Voice in 2014. After about four years of marriage, some sources claim that the “magic” has worn off a bit.
So does this mean they’re splitting up?
While some couples tend to keep their relationships fairly private, Gwen and Blake are not known for hiding or downplaying their love for each other when out in public. But recently, they haven’t been spotted together all that much. As Star reported, their last joint red carpet appearance occurred seven months ago at the Grand Ole Opry’s 100th anniversary celebration.
In October, Blake wished Gwen a happy birthday, but some noticed that his caption seemed pretty brief. “Y’all help me wish @gwenstefani a happy birthday!!!!!! I love you pretty girl!!!!!” he wrote at the time. Meanwhile, Gwen has not been posting about her husband all that much in recent months.
One of Blake’s songs also sparked split rumors.
In March, the singer told Access Hollywood that his song “Hangin’ On” is about “breaking up but still trying to stay together.” Understandably, people had questions after hearing this explanation. Interestingly, though, he collaborated with his wife to create the song, and later clarified that the song is (hopefully?) not about his current relationship. “It’s really no reflection of where Gwen and I are in our relationship — I hope,” he said at the time. The rumors have intensified because of the time the couple has spent apart from each other in recent months. A source recently told Star that “Gwen and Blake have been spending an awful lot of time apart lately,” and date nights “don’t seem to be happening anymore.”
People around them have noticed the shift too, the insider claimed. “It’s become a talking point amongst friends and fans that they’re living separate lives,” they said.
However, it’s possible that they’re just busy.
Fans might be used to seeing Blake and Gwen together, but the apparent distance between them doesn’t necessarily mean that something is wrong. Per Star, they truly are both “really busy” at the moment. At the same time, the publication’s source acknowledged that the distance between them could be a negative thing. “Truth be told, they’re both so different and it’s starting to become more apparent now,” they claimed. “There’s a real fear that the way things are headed, Blake and Gwen could wind up becoming another Hollywood divorce casualty, even though it’s the last thing either of them would want.”
