The release of Britney Spears’ upcoming memoir, The Woman in Me, is still more than a week away, but she is already dropping bombshells about everything from her relationship with her mom to the real reason behind her now-infamous decision to shave all of her hair off. But, all of that seems tame compared to the news that just broke.
According to an exclusive excerpt from the book published by People, Britney was actually pregnant with Justin Timberlake’s baby and ended up getting an abortion.

Britney is claiming Justin didn't want to be a father.
“It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” she writes in The Woman in Me, according to People. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”
She would have made a different choice.
“If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” Britney continues in the book.
“To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” she writes of the abortion.
It seems like Britney really is ready to talk.
Britney and Justin were, of course, an iconic couple in the early 2000s, but in the past couple of years, it has come to light that their relationship wasn’t nearly as peachy as it seemed from afar. Justin has even publicly apologized for how he treated her in the aftermath of their breakup.
At one point, she alluded to the fact that she would be speaking out about what went down between them in the memoir, and now it seems she might have even more to say than we could have imagined.
The couple only dated for three years.
Although they arguably had one of the most famous romantic relationships in history, Britney and Justin only dated from 1999, when she was 17 and he was 18, until 2002.
A few years later in 2005, she welcomed her first child with then-husband Kevin Federline, Sean, and just a year later, her second child, Jayden.
Justin hasn't responded to the revelation.
The news about Britney’s abortion just broke this morning, but People shared it reached out to Justin before publishing the story and he has not yet responded to its request for comment.
Britney’s memoir is set to release October 24, and given everything she’s been though, we hope it’s a healthy experience for her, and we can’t wait to read what else she has to say.
