After 14 months of marriage, it's officially over for Britney Spears and Sam Asghari. News broke Wednesday that Sam filed for divorce just hours after multiple news outlets reported that the couple had separated, and from what we know so far, it sounds like this may end up being a pretty contentious split.

It sounds like trouble had been brewing for a long time.
TMZ was the first to report that Sam and Britney were going their separate ways after a source close to the couple told the news outlet that they'd been arguing over rumors that the singer had cheated.
The insider said there had been "deep trouble" brewing between them for months that led to this point, including explosive fights.
Reportedly, Sam isn't happy about their prenup.
If what insiders have told Page Six is true, Sam is allegedly trying to "blackmail" Britney into giving him more money than what is outlined in the agreement they signed before they got married.
"[He's] attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid," the source said.
At this point, it doesn't sound like Britney has much of a support system on her side.
Even though Britney recently reunited with her mom, Lynne Spears, TMZ is reporting that she's estranged from her entire family. Reportedly, something happened between her and Lynne since their reunion that put them back on bad terms, and she's not speaking to her siblings or dad Jamie Spears, either.

Her family is reportedly worried about her.
"She has one confidant, Cade. Then there's her security team, and after that her support system falls off a cliff," the source shared, speaking of her manager, Cade Hudson.
TMZ reported that Sam had already moved out and established another place of residence before he filed for divorce.
At this point, Britney doesn't seem too bothered — at least, not publicly.
Britney has continued posting on Instagram as usual since the news of her divorce became public, and most recently, she shared that she's thinking about getting a horse.
"Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on?" she asked in her caption.
Fingers crossed that Britney is finding support somewhere during what is likely a very difficult time.
