Nick Cannon has been making headlines for years for his extremely unconventional family — having 12 kids with six different women (including ex-wife Mariah Carey) is no small feat. And now, it sounds like one of his baby mamas has taken her experience with Nick as inspiration to further her professional career. Brittany Bell, who shares three children with Nick, just earned her doctorate degree, and the topic she wrote her dissertation on is just a little on the nose.
Brittany is celebrating her graduation as the first person in her family to earn a college degree.
At the end of May, Brittany, who is a former Miss Universe contestant, shared photos and videos from her graduation from Alliant University, where she earned a doctorate in clinical psychology.
All three of the children Brittany shares with Nick — who include Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah, were at the graduation, cheering their mom on.
“My priority is them! They deserved to walk the stage with me as they shared every moment of this journey with mommy!” Brittany wrote in an Instagram post that showed her kids on stage with her at graduation, each wearing their own caps and gowns. “Mama Gang stand up! My honor to share this moment with them. Leading by example. You let nothing stop you no matter how many times the doubt and criticism comes… we go up! The Golden Powerful Rise empowered mama.”
Her choice in dissertation topics is certainly… interesting.

Now that Brittany has graduated, people on social media (including X and Reddit) have discovered that Brittany’s dissertation topic sounds a lot like art imitating life.
The 14-page dissertation, which has been uploaded on Scribd, is titled “Black Fathering and the Experience of the Adult Child with Multiple Siblings from Different Women.”
The goal of Brittany’s paper is to “explore lived experiences of adult males with Black fathers who have multiple children with different women” and the impact that growing up in these types of family environments has on children after they grow up. It sounds a lot like Nick is the actual topic of her dissertation, doesn’t it?
“Took the research portion a bit far love,” one Redditor wrote, while another added, “Spite so strong she turned it into a dissertation.”
If Nick has feelings about the topic, he seems to be keeping them to himself.
One might assume that Nick could be a little insulted about Brittany’s dissertation topic, but apparently, there are no hard feelings. In fact, he’s commented on more than one of her posts about her graduation to congratulate his baby mama.
In one comment, Nick called Brittany the “Flyest Doctor in the Barbie World!” while in another, he wrote, “Will the Real Dr. Bell please stand up!!!”
It would be fascinating to find out how he truly feels about the paper, though. Maybe Nick needs to sit down and read this dissertation and learn a little something?
