What to Know
After months of speculation about why Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have been estranged from his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, the 26-year-old is finally speaking out. On Monday, Brooklyn broke his silence with a truly shocking series of Instagram Stories posts, blaming his parents entirely for the fracture in his family and making it very clear that he has no interest in reconciling with them after everything that he says has happened.
Brooklyn said he can no longer be silent about what’s going on behind the scenes.

Brooklyn said he’s been “silent for years” on the drama in his family, but now, “the lies that have been printed” as a result of his parents going to the press means that he feels that he needs to speak out.
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote in the first of a series of Instagram Stories posts. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
When it comes to what the public has seen of his relationship with his family, he said that it’s all been “performative” and “inauthentic.”
He accused Victoria and David of trying to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola.
Since Nicola has been blamed for the feud between Brooklyn and his parents, he wanted to make it clear that she’s not to blame, and just as many people suspected, it does go all the way back to the couple’s April 2022 wedding.
“My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress,” Brooklyn continued. “Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
Brooklyn even went on to accuse Victoria of “hijacking” what was supposed to be his first dance with Nicola at their wedding reception.
“In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” he wrote. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and humiliated in my entire life.”
He said that he did try to celebrate his dad’s 50th birthday last year, contrary to previous reports.
Brooklyn was notably absent from David’s big birthday celebrations in May 2025, and he took this opportunity to clear up what happened that day, too, saying that he and Nicola actually did travel to London to see him but were “rejected.”
“He refused all of our attempts, unless it was at a big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner,” he said. “When he finally agreed to see me, it was under the condition that Nicola wasn’t invited.”
“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” he concluded.

After he “grew up with overwhelming anxiety,” as an adult, Brooklyn wrote that he has chosen “peace.”
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation,” he concluded. “All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
It’s impossible to know exactly how much truth is to Brooklyn’s statement, but it sounds like this feud isn’t coming to an end anytime soon now that he’s putting it all out there.
