One week after Cardi B surprised fans by announcing that she's expecting her third child, the rapper is opening up about a scary incident she experienced recently. While chatting with fans on X (formerly Twitter), Cardi said that she had a "freak accident" while she was at home that made her feel like she was paralyzed — and the incident was so bad that she nearly lost her pregnancy.

Cardi shared the story on Thursday.
While talking to fans, Cardi said that she had a "f–king freak accident" when she slipped going down the stairs.
"I practically fell, but I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding myself on the railing. My foot still slipped, and I kind of busted my a–," she told fans on X Spaces, according to People.
She felt a 'weird jerk' and had to 'scream' for her dad to help.
"I noticed that I couldn't really walk, like I was feeling pain in my, I don't know, in the lower of my stomach," she said.
She decided to take a nap after feeling "a little pain" in the area where she's carrying her baby, but when she woke up, she felt worse.
"I couldn't move. I felt like paralyzed," she said.
She went to the hospital and found out she'd torn a ligament in her pelvis.
And because the tear was near where her baby's head was resting, "I dilated and I was having contractions for every two minutes for a whole 24 hours," the soon-to-be mom of three continued. "So they had to monitor me and I was in a lot of pain. I couldn't move for two days straight."

The doctors eventually sent her home — but her recovery isn't over yet.
She said the doctors who helped her at the hospital "not only put me on bed rest, but I got to do therapy."
Now, she's just hanging out at home and even shared a selfie from her closet on Thursday all decked out in a comfy outfit.
Cardi announced her pregnancy last week.
Sharing a photo of her baby bump on Instagram, Cardi revealed that she's expecting her third child, joining daughter Kulture, 6, and Wave, 2.
"I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!" Cardi wrote to her baby-to-be in the caption. "It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!"
