Raising a child has never been an inexpensive task, especially in recent years when it seems like the costs of just about everything seem to be going up. But when it comes to the expenses that rapper Cardi B is looking at just to maintain her kids’ extravagant lifestyles, things really add up. And that’s before you take into account that her two oldest children are each in their own five-figure tuition private schools.
It all started when Cardi accused ex Offset of not chipping in for their kids’ expenses.
As the Daily Mail reported, Cardi went on a rant against her ex Offset during a live stream on X Spaces, claiming he hasn’t been financially responsible for their kids since their split. The couple share three children: Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and Blossom, 8 months.
“A whole year straight, you have left me with the kids’ bills. Y’all want to know what’s the kids’ bills? Start adding,” Cardi said.
She pointed out that maintaining her kids’ routines isn’t cheap.
Cardi then went on to share all of the expenses her children incur monthly, and let’s just say they’re a bit higher than what most moms have going on – at least, the ones who aren’t music icons, of course.
She said she pays a driver a $10,000 monthly retainer to shuttle her oldest kids to and from school and their activities. And speaking of school, tuition is one of her highest kid-related bills. Cardi said she pays $45,000 a year for Kulture’s tuition, while Wave’s runs her another $35,000, the news outlet reported.
Then, there’s child care: $3,000 per week goes to Cardi’s family member who babysits the kids, along with a $500 per-day fee to Blossom’s nanny.
Yikes!
The “smaller” expenses really add up, too.
The fun doesn’t stop there, either.
“Kulture and Wave get tutoring four times a week. Each hour is $250. Count that up,” Cardi said. “Kulture’s piano class, that’s $300 an hour and she gets piano classes three times a week. I’m not sure how much is gymnastics and Wave’s boxing classes, but I pay that too.”
Cardi claims Offset hasn’t seen the kids in months.
Cardi has been covering all of these costs on her own, and not only is she accusing Offset of failing to help with their kids’ expenses, but she also claims he isn’t seeing them regularly, either.
“I’ve been trying to save your face,” she said. “I said you can see my kids in my house. I want my daughter to feel the love of her dad. He hasn’t seen his kids since March.”
