17 Celeb Parents at the Start of Their Acting Careers vs. Now

Mom life sure does change things, doesn't it? While most celebs still live quite glamorous lives after they become parents, there's no denying that parenthood has a major effect on even the biggest celebrities.

When we become parents, our priorities often change and sometimes our looks change. Jennifer Garner recently talked about how her body has changed after having babies, saying after three kids, she basically has a permanent pooch. (We can relate, girl!)

We love it when celebs say things we can relate to, and imagine that despite getting all decked out in designer threads on occasion, at home they can be found chasing around their kiddos in sweatpants and feeling just as burned out as the rest of us.

Some celeb parents, who we were used to seeing all dolled up in the past, even opt for that off-duty look when they step out now. Did anyone ever see J.Lo sans makeup back in the day? Nope. Absolutely not. But now that she's a mom and has to manage her massive career and meeting the needs of her twins, she seems to have eased up on the daily glam — because like the rest of us, painting on that face just has to wait sometimes.

Things have even changed for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who posts just as much about his kids on social media as he does about his workouts. The movie star — and so many other celebrities — have been completely transformed by parenthood. Keep scrolling to check out some of our favorites.

Actor Tom Hanks has been a father longer than many of us have been alive. In fact, when he made the film Big in 1988, he was already a father of two. He looked so young back then though, which of course helped him be all the more convincing in the role of a kid trapped in the body of an adult.

Will Smith

Since Will Smith first hit it big with his sit-com The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in 1990, he's been married twice and has three kids. Then, a fresh-faced kid out of South Philadelphia, he was quite the funny man. Now as a middle-aged guy who has built an impressive career he has certainly aged, but still boasts his signature sense of humor.

Reese Witherspoon

Hollywood powerhouse Reese Witherspoon honestly doesn't look all that different than she did um … 30 years ago, but boy has she evolved. While she of course still acts, she has become a prolific producer since becoming a mom of three, and is setting an amazing example for her children and young girls everywhere.

Jessica Alba

These days, Jessica Alba spends more time running her business, The Honest Company, but once upon a time she made her way through the Hollywood ranks by acting in a number of TV shows and eventually some teen movies before taking on some of her more famous film roles. Now, a mom of three, she's admitted that her kids didn't know for years that she's an actress.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is an incredibly busy man these days. Once a WWE superstar, and now one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, a businessman and a father of three girls, two of whom are under the age of 10, he's got a lot going on. His facial expressions are still bar none, though.

Kevin Hart

Speaking of The Rock, his good friend comedian Kevin Hart has also been a force in the entertainment world for quite some time. Hardly anyone remembers that he once acted in a sitcom alongside the likes of Seth Rogen and Jason Segel, but before his stand-up career exploded and transformed him into a major player in Hollywood, he did just that. Now a father of four, he's one of the most well-known actors in the country.

Salma Hayek

Actress Salma Hayek didn't become a mom until she was in her 40s and her career was well-established. Starting out as a telenovela star in Mexico, Salma, who has one child in her teens, always had to look incredibly glamorous. These days, we see her most in her makeup-free Instagram selfies.

Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez is arguably one of the most glamorous celebrities in the world. Very few of us remember her earliest days on the scene, though. Instead, we remember her sleek, honey blond locks and blinged-out outfits from the early 2000s. Now a mom of twin teens, she's still a master at going glam, but knows how to take it down, too.

Kristen Bell

A mom of two, actress Kristen Bell has been on the entertainment scene for more than half her life. Initially, she acted as an extra and in several bit parts before garnering success as the lead character in the TV series, Veronica Mars in the early 2000s. She's always seemed like a chill person, but she's even more authentic now than ever before.

Kim Kardashian

Entrepreneur and reality TV star Kim Kardashian has undeniably transformed through the years, the least of all things being that she's now a mom of four young children. When she burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s she exemplified the look of the trend-setting crowd she was a part of, and now she's the one setting trends around the world.

Chrissy Teigen

Mom of two Chrissy Teigen started her life in the public eye as a popular bikini model, and while she's still known to sport a two-piece quite often, she's now a cookbook author, top social media influencer, TV personality, and the wife of John Legend, one of the most successful musicians in the world.

Jennifer Garner

Actress and businesswoman Jennifer Garner has appeared to have always been true to herself and bucked the illusions of Hollywood. But now, as a mom of three, she seems even more down-to-earth. She's by far one of the most relatable Hollywood actresses, particularly thanks to her candid comments about her life as a mom.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon has been making movies both in front of and behind the camera for a really long time. A father of four, the same can be said for how long he's been making babies. He's had a long and prolific career in Hollywood, and we have to say, he doesn't seem much the worse for wear.

Pink

Pink started her career as a welcome diversion in the pop music landscape. Now decades later and a wife of mom of two, she remains unapologetically true to herself. Pink lets her music and her actions speak for themselves, and as a mom her commitment to raising confident, kind, and aware children is an inspiration.

Neil Patrick Harris

Actor Neil Patrick Harris is the dad of all dads. He's endlessly committed to his two kids, but seems to manage balancing his career with parenthood and prioritizing his relationship with his husband seemlessly. He's definitely parent #goals. We just love watching him get silly on screen and with his kiddos.

Jason Momoa

Does anyone even remember that Jason Momoa starred in Baywatch back in the '90s? Probably not. However, most of us know that he's probably one of the coolest dads around. While his career hit a bit of a dead zone in the early 2000s, he's a bona fide star now, and it sure has been fun watching him develop into an action star.

Jenna Dewan

Jenna Dewan is such a proud mama to her two kids. It's so adorable to watch her blossom as a mom. But her transformation as an entertainer has been even more drastic. She almost doesn't even look like the same person today as she did when she made the hit film Step Up with her ex-husband Channing Tatum.
