Easter is one of the most important holidays on the calendar for families who identify as Christian. It is generally the Sunday with the highest level of church attendance, so many families take this as an occasion to put on their best clothes and gather together to worship and then enjoy a big meal afterward. For other folks who might not be as religious, Easter has become a kind of cultural celebration of spring and new life and, yes, eating way too many jelly beans!
But what did our favorite celebrity families get up to this Easter weekend? Well, as anyone who follows stars on social media knows, anything that regular people do to celebrate, celebrities do bigger, bolder, and with a lot more money to spare! While some celebs kept it simple by posting a favorite Bible verse or otherwise proclaiming their faith, there were also those who followed the Kardashians' lead. The reality TV family's holiday model is always the same: crazy amounts of food, flowers, and lots of gifts for kids who already have everything that any kid could ever want.
Is it a little ridiculous? Yes. Are we still going to cover them and their Easter excess? Duh. Read on for celebrity Easter celebrations, both simple and over-the-top.
The Obamas
Former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama started their Easter in a traditional way with a time of worship. Michelle shared this Easter wish on Instagram: "Every Easter, I am reminded of the power of faith and community. Wishing all those celebrating today a day of joy and renewal." Not to be outdone, Barack shared this adorable throwback photo of a White House Easter.
Ree Drummond

Ree Drummond (also known as The Pioneer Woman from her blogging days) is the host of a popular cooking show on the Food Network. This year, she and her family were, according to her Instagram stories, responsible for filling hundreds of Easter eggs for their church's annual Easter egg hunt. That's dedication to the cause!
Khloé Kardashian & True Thompson

Here's the first (but not last!) Kardashian Easter sighting. Khloé Kardashian posted many inside looks at how she and daughter True Thompson celebrated, including adorable Easter aprons for doing crafts, hunting for eggs, and getting many, many baskets of presents.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

Model Chrissy Teigen and musician John Legend threw an at-home Easter egg hunt for their little bunnies, Luna and Miles. From the looks of it, this hunt had some tricky challenges, including eggs that little Luna had to climb a rock wall to be able to find!
British Royal Family

Although they were not joined by Queen Elizabeth this year, many of the members of the British royal family walked together to attend the traditional Easter service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. They were led by Prince William and Kate Middleton, who walked with their eldest two children (who are getting so big!), Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

While most members of the British royal family were celebrating with a traditional walk to church in formal attire, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were more casual this Easter. The big-hearted couple is currently in The Hague, Netherlands, for the Invictus Games, which celebrates the athletic accomplishments of disabled service members. They were spotted celebrating with athletes and watching competitions including volleyball and sailing events.

The Beckhams
Is that the Easter Bunny that David Beckham is sharing a carrot with? Hmm, we can't say for sure, but we do know that the bunny is named Coco and gets to share its snack with the man who was People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2015, so not a bad view for a lucky bunny!
Kourtney Kardashian & Travis Barker

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker celebrated their first Easter as an engaged couple by hanging out with the whole Kardashian-Jenner clan for an egg hunt and a fancy meal, including gigantic personalized chocolate Easter eggs. There is always so much food in these pictures from Kardashian events that we can't help but wonder where it all goes and how much goes to waste. Maybe the Easter bunny comes back and helps them recycle it somehow?
Bindi Irwin & Chandler Powell
Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell celebrated Easter by first posting some animal facts (Did we know that there are two mammals that lay eggs — the platypus and the echidna — which Bindi included a cute pic of!). Then Bindi shared this sweet video of her 1-year-old daughter, Grace Warrior, getting into the Easter spirit with her own baskets and a set of new balls.
Kim Kardashian

If anyone was worried that the Kardashian-Jenner kids wouldn't be getting a truly bananas amount of gifts for Easter, fear not. Kim Kardashian brings good tidings of the news that the second generation of the family is more than spoiled again this year. This picture is just part of the holiday loot the kids got, which included crafts, Easter egg hunts, and more candy and chocolate eggs than the shelves of the local Target.
Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner posted this picture of gigantic personalized gumball machines with the note that she "had to get these for my girls" and, honestly, we have so many questions. First, why weren't North and Penelope included? Second, what is the Kardashian/Jenner plan for getting all of this stuff home at the end of the day? Do they bring a separate vehicle for just bringing stuff or is that some lowly assistant's job to figure out? Third, is there any boy cousin jealousy around this? Got to love the Kardashians for staying on-brand as far as being totally not relatable when it comes to the amount of money they spend for every occasion!
Hoda Kotb
Today coanchor Hoda Kotb had a double reason to celebrate with her daughters, Haley Joy and Hope Catherine. Easter weekend is also a birthday weekend for the newly single Hoda, as she celebrated both Easter and her mom's birthday with balloons and egg dyeing fun.
Mindy Kaling
Even though Mindy Kaling comes from a Hindu background, she still got into the spring spirit of Easter by twinning with her daughter, Kit. "[It's] one of the only times it's socially acceptable to match clothes with your kids, which, as you can I see, I did. Happy Easter and lots of love to everyone!" she wrote.
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson and her crew of cute kids kept it traditional this year and had fun decorating eggs, as shown here by her 10-year-old son, Bingham. The Almost Famous actress also posted a sweet and simple message to her fans, including a poem celebrating the rebirth associated with Easter.
Kamala Harris
Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff did double-duty holiday celebrations this weekend. The interfaith couple celebrated both Easter and Passover, including hosting a traditional Passover Seder in their home on Saturday.
