20 Times Celebrities Got Caught Flirting With Each Other on Social Media

Who doesn't follow at least a few celebrities on social media? Everybody does, right? And some of us actually follow celebs almost exclusively because to be honest, it gets kind of boring scrolling through endless feeds documenting people just like us doing the exact same things we're doing. It's much more interesting to see celebrities doing, well, the exact same things we're doing. (Although, sometimes there is the added bonus that we might catch our favorite celebs actually showing us something that's totally different than our own lives.) But really, we like watching them be regular people and do things like, say, shamelessly flirt on the 'Gram.

Yes, we mean it. Celebrities actually do occasionally get kind of frisky in their comments on social media. Sometimes they will flirt with their fans, but more often, they get caught admiring each other. Hawk-eyed fans — those social media users who live for celebrity gossip — are quick to point it out when they see it, too, so there is actually plenty of it on record.

Celebrities flirting with one another on social media is honestly so amusing. We put these people on pedestals, and most of the time we can assume they could easily hook up with anyone they want, but they are just people. Look at Ben Affleck: He recently got caught being rejected by a stranger on a dating app. Celebs chatting it up with other celebs has to be safer than that. Most of the time, it's pretty cute, too. To see for yourself, just take a look at these 20 times celebs got caught flirting with one another on social media.

Tyler Cameron & Jennifer Garner

Earlier this year, actress and mom of three Jennifer Garner participated in the viral "Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tinder" challenge, where people posted mocking photos of what they look like on each social media platform. Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron commented, "@jennifer.garner I'm still swiping right," after she teased herself for possibly using the wrong photo on Tinder.

Hailey Bieber & Shawn Mendes

Well, she was Hailey Baldwin at the time, but years ago model Hailey Bieber commented on one of Shawn Mendes' Instagram photos with a pretty straightforward solicitation. In 2013, she wrote: "Hey, Shawn Mendes, let's date so you can sing to me all day. I'm joking but not really." They did eventually go on to date briefly, though they're now both happily attached to other celebs.

Lizzo & Chris Evans

Singing sensation Lizzo has gotten flirty with Captain America star Chris Evans on more than one occasion, and he hasn't been shy about being a fan of hers either. In April 2021, she fessed up to sending Chris a DM while drunk. "Don't drink and DM, kids … for legal porpoises this is a joke," she captioned a confession on TikTok afterwards.

Blake Lively & Brad Pitt

Well, perhaps this isn't exactly flirting, but Blake Lively clearly and publicly expressed her appreciation for the work of art that is Brad Pitt. Apparently, her hottie husband, Ryan Reynolds, conveniently failed to invite her behind the scenes when Brad filmed his cameo for Deadpool 2. "Weird… My husband didn't invite me to set that day," Blake sarcastically commented when she saw news of Brad's appearance.

Nicki Minaj & Eminem

We're not exactly sure how sincere this little interaction was, but it was definitely flirting — and before Nicki Minaj became a married mom, her and Eminem together didn't seem outside the realm of possibility. The two rappers might have just been poking fun at the random commenter who asked Nicki if they were dating, but either way, this was pretty flirty.

Mindy Kaling & B.J. Novak

Comedians Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak have long claimed that they're just friends, but speculation about the real nature of their relationship has endured. Many have even wondered if B.J. is actually the father of Mindy's children. All of the flirting they do in each other's Instagram comments doesn't help either. When Mindy was on the cover of Vogue India in late 2020, B.J. really raised eyebrows when he left a comment saying, "Check your DMs," on Mindy's Instagram.

Sarah Paulson & Michael B. Jordan

American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson couldn't help commenting when she saw a photo of fellow actor Michael B. Jordan on Instagram with the caption, "the Sexiest Man Alive. Period." Sarah chimed in quickly with one simple, suggestive response. "Correct," she replied under the photo of Michael.

Sarah Hyland & Wells Adams

Before they hooked up and eventually became a couple, there was a lot of social media flirting between actress Sarah Hyland and Bachelorette alum Wells Adams. In fact, the two actually officially met on Twitter. That's also where Sarah would frequently tweet about her admiration for him during his stint on Bachelor in Paradise.

Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik

Over the course of about four years, beautiful people Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik went from flirting on Twitter to being in a long-term relationship and welcoming a child together. Gigi was in the video for Zayn's song Pillowtalk, and he tweeted her: "You seen the video, babe? Someone's looking (thumbs up emoji)," to which she replied: "Nah, must have missed it … jokes … I wasn't looking at myself, trust me."

Colton Underwood & Aly Raisman

The Bachelor alum Colton Underwood, who recently came out as gay, took it one step further than just flirting on social media. He asked Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman out on a date via a video message on social media. Aly and Colton did end up dating for around six months after that, though they eventually broke up.

Yvette Nicole Brown & John Stamos

Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown couldn't help herself when comedian Bob Saget posted a shirtless beach photo of his former Full House costar John Stamos. Yvette commented, "Whoo you fine!" on the sultry photo of the timeless TV heartthrob. Not many would disagree.

Zendaya & Tom Holland

Boy, these two would make a cute couple — fans could only dream! Back in 2017, the pair engaged in some hilarious Twitter banter that sparked accusations that they were actually flirting with each other the whole time. Rumors that the two dated for a while after filming Spiderman: Homecoming swirled for some time, but they proved to be unsubstantiated.

John Mayer & Nicki Minaj

Songwriter John Mayer once quite genuinely tweeted his concern over whether rapper Nicki Minaj would like him or not. It definitely seemed like he was trying to get her attention, and he did. Nicki tweeted back, "Would my body be your wonderland?" reminding many that John once said quite crudely that he doesn't sleep with Black women.

Ricky Martin & Jwan Yosef

Puerto Rican singer and actor Ricky Martin actually met his husband artist, Jwan Yosef, on Instagram. He first noticed his art and then apparently when he started scrolling through his feed, he was instantly attracted. Being Ricky Martin of course, he didn't hesitate to DM Jwan, and the rest is history.

Demi Lovato & Henry Cavill

Fans caught on quick when singer and actress Demi Lovato left a very obvious thirst trap for hunky Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill. A few years ago, Demi followed Henry and liked two of his photos in an apparent attempt to get his attention, and then immediately posted a super-sexy photo of herself to her own feed. Though he did not comment on that photo, he did stalk her page and commented on a less suggestive snapshot.

Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have been a couple for several years, but it seemed to have all progressed on Twitter. Before the two singers were officially official, they flirted on the app quite frequently. Just one example was when Shawn tweeted that he wanted to learn Spanish, and Camila made sure he knew she was available to assist him.

Zac Efron & Rebecca Ferguson

Zac Efron was apparently kicking himself for not making a move on his Greatest Showman costar, Rebecca Ferguson. And we thought all the chemistry was between him and Zendaya! He posted a photo of the two of them embracing on-set with the caption: "wtf were u thinking dud?! Look at her!! #GreatestShowman #RebeccaFerguson."

Bella Thorne & Dove Cameron

Chick Fight actress Bella Thorne was really feeling Descendant star Dove Cameron for a while there. The two young actresses had a brief flirtation on Twitter, but it's unclear whether it went anywhere after that. They've each been linked to various people, but not each other, since then.

John Legend & Chrissy Teigen

OK, so Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are one of the most famous married couples in the world, but it still counts when married people flirt with each other, doesn't it? John was all over Chrissy when she posted this picture of herself clad in a basic bra and granny panties. He's definitely hot for his wifey.

Andy Cohen & B.J. Novak

B.J. Novak is just so lovable! We can't blame all the celebrities for wanting a piece of him. Bravo host Andy Cohen saw this fantastic photo of B.J. on social media and just had to shoot his shot. "Are you seeing anybody?" the single dad of one commented on the Instagram post.
