15 Times Celebrities Fulfilled Fans’ Weird Requests

Sometimes it can be fun to imagine what we would do if we somehow encountered our favorite celebrity out in the wild. Maybe we're sitting at a coffee shop, minding our own business, and Taylor Swift or Lizzo waltzes in. Would we be frozen in shock? Would we get it together enough to politely ask for a selfie and maybe an autograph? Or would we go for broke and ask them for something really over-the-top, like to take our kid to the prom or do our baby's gender reveal?

Yep, those are things that have actually happened. While we are probably more likely to be in the frozen in shock or nervously asking for a picture category, surprisingly there are lots of people out there who had no trouble at all finding the courage to ask their favorite celeb for some seriously huge or just plain weird requests. And, no, we're not just talking about all of the people who apparently have a thing for celebrity feet.

What's even more surprising is that there are quite a few celebrities who have fulfilled their fans' weird or unusual requests. Thankfully they lived to tell about it, which means we get to read about all the details and shake our heads in wonder at the things people will ask for!

Andy Cohen

We may think of Andy Cohen as someone who loves to stir the pot and get all kinds of Bravo drama brewing, but it turns out the talk show host has a softer side, too. He even once helped facilitate a superfan's request to do a Bravo-themed proposal for his boyfriend. Awww!

Rupert Grint

When Harry Potter star Rupert Grint met some Ron Weasley fans who happened to be drag queens, he found himself on a late-night adventure that included letting them dress him in drag and going out for bagels at 4 a.m. He shared this story in an interview with none other than costar Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy). Look at how nice Draco grew up to be!

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal has a reputation for being generous with his fans, but it's still pretty above and beyond that the former NBA star paid for a fan's engagement ring. Turns out Shaq has a big heart and an even bigger wallet when it comes to helping young couples in love!

Jaleel White

Family Matters star Jaleel White (forever Urkel in our hearts) is one of the many celebs on Cameo and he's had his fair share of interesting requests for personalized videos. He shared the weirdest one with the Today show. "I had a dude ask me to ask his ex to accept his phone call," he recounted. "That was tricky but fun because I don't know what this guy did to get himself exiled, so I had to respect she could have valid reasons for ghosting this guy. But I still gave his pitch my all."

Eugene Simon

Eugene Simon played Lancel Lannister on Game of Thrones, which is a show that has a die-hard fan base. He shared one unusual request he's granted — and it involved fake blood.

"I've had about four people come up to me with the Seven-Pointed Star on their forehead, like Lancel Lannister. It's very funny," he told Elle. "One of them, who was with a makeup artist at a Comic-Con in Blackpool, in the north of England, said, 'Listen, we want to paint the Seven-Pointed Star on your forehead.' I said, 'All right! Why not?' So they painted the star on my forehead with fake blood, really effective fake blood, whilst I shook hands with other people as they came up to me, and that just carried on for 20 minutes."

Maisie Williams

Eugene Simon isn't the only Game of Thrones cast member to deal with some unusual requests. Maisie Williams also shared her story with Elle.

"People call me Arya all the time," she said. "I totally get it, because we do look very similar, but sometimes it's a little strange. It's kind of funny when I tweet something normal about me, and everyone relates it to Arya. And quite often, people ask me to say Arya's kill list of names she wants to kill but put their own name in it, so they can record it on their phone. And I do, but that's really creepy!"

Taylor Swift

It might not be that unusual anymore for a fan to ask a celebrity to be their prom date, but we're always a little amazed that there are stars generous enough with their time to be willing to agree to go. At least Taylor Swift was an age-appropritate date back in the day when she said yes!

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks always seems like a good sport with fans and even went the extra mile for one woman by taking a selfie with a picture of her and a llama to help her win a bet. He also hand-typed a letter (he is a collector of vintage typewriters, so this all tracks) because he is just that nice.

Jared Leto

Jared Leto is a talented actor but also maybe a little bit of an odd duck sometimes, which may be why his response to a fan sending him an actual human ear as a gift was to poke a hole in it and wear it as a necklace. Yikes to that!

JuJu Smith-Schuster

JuJu Smith-Schuster of the Kansas City Chiefs is a 2023 Super Bowl champ, but he was probably the MVP for life for one high school student who hit him up over DM to invite him to the prom. Not only did he go, he even rocked a matching green velvet tux. Love it!

Harry Styles

So many parents-to-be want to have a memorable gender reveal moment, but it will be hard to top the Harry Styles fans who asked for — and got — Harry Styles to take a moment out of his concert to dramatically share the news that they were having a baby girl. It's pretty adorable how much Harry seemed to enjoy getting to spill the big surprise!

Jon Bon Jovi

After starting an online petition to get his attention, Bon Jovi fan Branka Delic was thrilled to have her favorite rock star, Jon Bon Jovi, walk her down the aisle at her Las Vegas wedding. The singer happened to be in Vegas at the same time for his tour and created a moment that Branka will likely never forget.

Taylor Swift (Again)

Another celeb who made a fan's somewhat weird wedding request (can we all agree that asking a perfect stranger to someone else's wedding is a little odd?) come true is our old friend Taylor Swift. She was asked to attend by the groom's sister and even performed a song and gave the couple a sweet card.

Lizzo

Lizzo showed what a good sport she is when she hopped on Twitter to fulfill a delightfully unique request from a group of Minnesota middle schoolers. The students campaigned to get a snowplow named in her honor and were hoping the "About Damn Time" singer would publicly thank them for the win. Because she is Lizzo and Lizzo is awesome, she totally did!

Bill Murray

A group of men having a bachelor party in Charleston, South Carolina, probably didn't expect to run into actor Bill Murray but when they did, they seized the moment and asked him to give a speech. He not only complied, but he offered them some practical advice:

"If you have someone that you think is 'the one,' take that person and travel around the world. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And when you land at JFK, and you're still in love with that person, get married."

What could be weirder than getting actually useful love advice from a Hollywood celeb?
