There are plenty of perks to being the child of a famous actor, but one of the biggest ones has to be getting a ticket to the hottest show in Hollywood: the Oscars. This year, a number of celebrity parents — including Angela Bassett, Colin Farrell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus — brought their kids with them for the glamorous night out, giving us yet another reason to wish we'd been born a nepo baby.
Angela brought the whole gang along for the ride.
The mother of two brought both of the children she shares with fellow actor Courtney B. Vance — son Slater Vance and daughter Bronwyn Vance — to watch her vie for an Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Unfortunately, her kids didn't get to see her take home the statuette (that honor went to Jamie Lee Curtis), but fans did get to catch Angela and Bronwyn rocking their gorgeous matching purple dresses.
We also got to see Julia and her son together.
The Veep star took the stage to help present an award — her movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated in five different categories, so she had plenty of good reasons to be at the show — and she stunned in a glitzy black gown. But she caught our eye for more than just her stunning dress. The actress also posed alongside her 30-year-old musician son, Henry Hall. Henry was obviously very proud of his mom!
Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly's son was also on the champagne carpet.
We felt like we were seeing double when photographers captured snaps of Jennifer and 19-year-old son Stellan Connelly Bettany making their arrival. Jennifer's blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick received a lot of love during the awards show, so we're sure Jennifer enjoyed having her look-alike son on hand to watch his mother's movie get celebrated.
It wasn't just older kids who got invited to hang out with their famous parents.
Colin Farrell's 13-year-old son, Henry, made an ultra rare appearance at Sunday's event. The father-son duo wore matching dapper tuxedos as they posed for photos. Henry was there to support his dad, who was up for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in the critically acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherin.
Salma Hayek's daughter, 15-year-old Valentina, also joined in on the fun. The pair both went with red dresses for the glam occasion.
We hope all these kids had a blast watching their parents at work.
This had to be an amazing opportunity for these kids of stars to see their parents' work celebrated and, in some cases, get an up-close and personal look at what they do for a living. And getting to wear some fancy designer clothing and enjoy live performances by the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga probably didn't hurt either!
