What to Know
Charli D’Amelio and her sister, Dixie, rose to fame almost instantly after their dances went viral on TikTok, and in the years since, their stars have only risen as they’re building their own empire, including their E! reality show. But after a report surfaced that accused Charli’s parents of stealing millions of dollars from her, it looks like their family may not be as tight-knit as they once seemed, and her dad is wasting no time putting himself in the center of the drama.
Deux Moi reported that Charli and her family are feuding.
On Sunday, gossip blog Deux Moi posted on Instagram that a source has claimed that Charli “discovered millions of dollars had been transferred out of accounts that were established during the years her career was managed by her parents” over an extended period of time.
“According to sources, Charli became aware of the situation after her parents were allegedly supposed to be removed from certain accounts. The matter is now reportedly in the hands of attorneys,” Deux Moi continued. “Sources further allege the dispute has caused a major rift within the family, with Charli’s sister Dixie D’Amelio reportedly siding with their parents.”
Her dad claims that his daughter is being “manipulated.”
Charli’s dad, Marc, commented on the post, and according to him, whoever the source is got it all wrong.
“No one called me for an interview. This is not true,” he wrote. “We love Charli but she is being manipulated and I have the receipts. Over the last six years we have remained silent and never addressed gossip but the time has come to set the record straight.”
When another commenter asked him if he stole from his daughter, he responded, “absolutely not,” adding, “She’s always had a team in place lawyers, business manager, manager agent. We purposely set it up that way. Not sure if you know anything about our family, but we were doing fine before TikTok.”
Marc wasn’t done there, though. On Tuesday, TMZ reported that he once again denied taking Charli’s money, claiming that he’s actually been left out of meetings involving her finances since she turned 18. Since she’s now 22, that would have been several years ago.
The first hint of drama in the family came in February.
Earlier this year, an insider told the Daily Mail that Charli’s parents are reportedly “extremely fame-hungry” and treated her like a “cash cow.”
“They were constantly trying to force Charli to do things she didn’t want to simply because it would bring in more money and fame,” the source said at the time. “They honestly seemed way more desperate for fame and attention than Charli ever was, and it was them trying to push themselves as the next Kardashians.”
So far, Charli seems to be keeping quiet on the subject, but it really doesn’t seem like this is something her parents are going to let go very easily.
