Christina Applegate Surprises Fans With Emotional Appearance at the 2024 Emmy Awards

After Christina Applegate said she'd already made her final awards show appearance amid her battle with MS, she's already surprised fans by showing up to at least one more. On Monday night, Christina presented an award at the 2024 Emmys and even cracked a joke in the process. With the help of her cane, Christina was able to take the stage in her red gown and receive a standing ovation from the audience.

The crowd cheered as Christina made her way to the stage.

The theme song from her hit '90s sitcom, Married With Children, played as Christina walked to the podium with Anthony Anderson, causing her to become emotional as she thanked the crowd for their applause.

She went on to present the award for Best Supporting Actress to Ayo Edebiri for her work in The Bear.

She cracked a few jokes while she was up there.

After telling the audience that they were "shaming her" for her disability by standing up so effortlessly to clap for her, Christina went on to joke that she had a "body not by Ozempic."

She got plenty of laughs when she talked about playing a baby on Days of Our Lives, calling it her true "breakout role."

She wore a red velvet gown for the occasion.

Designer Christian Siriano shared a peek at the gown he'd designed for her on Instagram, posting a video of her posing for photos before the Emmys.

"Oh Christina you are divine and I will dress you any day of the week! What a woman," he wrote.

Since revealing that she has been battling multiple sclerosis, she has been open about what changes the disease has already brought to her life, from weight gain to her career as an on-screen actress coming to an end.

It seems we may not have seen the last of Christina on stage, though — at least, not if the audience's response to her appearance is any indication.
