Christina Applegate Reveals She Hasn’t Been Able To Shower for 3 Weeks Amid MS Relapse

Christina Applegate has been unflinchingly honest about her battle with multiple sclerosis every step of the way, and that still hasn't changed. During a new podcast appearance, Christina admitted she hasn't been able to shower or bathe for three weeks due to a relapse she's fighting, and although it seems she's keeping her sense of humor about her symptoms, there's no doubt this is a difficult part of her diagnosis. Instead, she's had to find other ways to stay clean.

She revealed that she's 'in relapse right now.'

While talking to cohost Jamie Lynn Sigler on their podcast, MeSsy, Christina shared that her current "painful" symptoms mean that she hasn't been able to bathe herself in weeks.

“I’m gonna be honest with you, I need to buy stock in Cottonelle because I haven’t taken a shower in three weeks,” she said. "I can't stand in my shower."

Usually, the bench in her shower helps.

But right now, it sounds like her old tricks just aren't working.

"I have such a small bench and my a– is so huge these days that I can’t sit on it, it’s like I slip right off of it," she admitted. "So, I’ve been Cottonelle-ing my body."

Hey, whatever works.

It does give her ammo to tease her daughter with, though.

"Thank God I’m always alone so that no one smells me," she said. "[Sadie’s] always like, 'Oh Mama, that’s bad.' I make her smell my armpits, just to make her vomit."

At 12 years old, Sadie is at prime embarrassment age, so it's nice to see that Christina is having fun with it.

She said she's been going through 'intense pain.'

And at this point, Christina said she'll likely have to see a doctor soon since her "legs have never been this bad."

"Insane tingling that just has spurts of tingles that are weird coming from, like, my butt down. I haven’t slept for 24 hours because my eye is doing something weird where every time I close my eye to go to sleep my right eye starts to shift," she explained as she listed her current symptoms on the podcast.

This must be a scary time for Christina.

It's hard to believe it's been nearly three years since Christina went public with her diagnosis, but good for her for sharing what she's going through so openly. Not only is it bringing more awareness of this heartbreaking disease, but at the same time, there's no doubt she's also bringing comfort to fans who are fighting MS.
