It seems like Christina Haack has been engaging in some self-reflection to figure out why her three marriages didn’t work out. In the past, the HGTV star admitted that she has a tendency to jump into new relationships too quickly. Now, she’s clearly given it some more thought — and seems to be hoping that she will find love that lasts.
Christina has been working on some of her issues.
On April 8, Christina took to social media to share what she’s learned. “As someone who recently discovered I have anxious-attachment (not sure what took me so long 🤪) and for sure a history of co-dependency issues .. things can be challenging and by ‘things’ I mean ‘me,'” Christina confessed in an Instagram post.
After three divorces, Christina says she’s met ‘an unexpected good man.’
In what could be interpreted as a slight jab at her ex-husbands (Tarek El Moussa, Ant Anstead, and Josh Hall), Christina said being with a “good man” can feel “strange” at times because it’s not what she’s used to. Christina is currently dating Christopher Larocca, and based on her description of him, the relationship seems to be going well so far.
“Meeting an unexpected good man who has his own amazing career, life & hobbies (who also happens to have zero jealousy) can at times feel strange for someone who has had the opposite,” she continued in her post.
She’s working on herself.
Now that she’s gained a better understanding of her attachment style, Christina seems committed to improving herself. “At 41 I’m finally learning about safe communication, independence during commitment and a relationship that is NOT 0-100,” she wrote. “I am for sure guilty of putting pressure on others. Facing my own insecurities has forced me into doing the shadow work I’ve been avoiding..”
“it’s time to break the cycle,” she concluded.
Christina previously hinted at some of her more problematic relationship patterns.
Christina has historically moved on pretty quickly after her divorces. OnThe Flip Off, she acknowledged that she’s made some “stupid” decisions to cope with divorce. “I feel like I try to hide and act like I’m not affected but then I just do more stupid things to try to make myself feel better,” she explained on the show. “I just keep doing it and getting into things too fast that I know aren’t right.”
She added that she “never wanted to get divorced,” and she “just felt like it’s safe to be back in a relationship.”
“But ultimately, that was not safe either,” she concluded.
Though she previously swore off marriage, it seems like she’s changed her mind.
During the season finale of The Flip Off, Christina asserted that there would be “no more marriages” for her. But now, it seems like Christina is open to giving marriage another try. During an appearance on SiriusXM, when a cohost made a comment about how there would be “no more husbands” for Christina, she said, “Okay well … maybe one more.”
