Just days after That '70s Show actor Danny Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison after he was convicted on rape charges, he's been dealt another major blow — this time, in his personal life. On Monday, Danny's wife, Bijou Phillips, filed for divorce in Santa Barbara Superior Court after more than 12 years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" in the paperwork. Danny and Bijou got married in 2011 and share a 9-year-old daughter named Fianna.

Bijou's attorney has spoken out about the filing.
In a statement to NBC News, Bijou's lawyer, Peter A. Lauzon, said:
“Ms. Phillips has decided to file for divorce from her husband during this unfortunate time. Her priority remains with her daughter. This period has been unimaginably hard on the marriage and the family … Ms. Phillips acknowledges that Mr. Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter. She hopes that everyone will respect her family’s privacy in these difficult times.”
She is asking for full custody of their daughter, Fianna.
Bijou is asking for full legal and physical custody of Fianna, with visitation granted to Danny, according to court documents obtained by People. She is also asking to "terminate the court's ability to grant support" to her estranged husband.
It's not clear if a prenup was in place.
Bijou also mentioned certain financial aspects of their split in the documents — namely, that she wants Danny to pay the legal fees she'll incur in the process. She also asked the court to divide up their assets as separate property.
So far, Danny's rep has yet to comment on this new development.
Bijou seemed supportive during the trial.
Bijou, the daughter of musician John Phillips, has been photographed at Danny's side throughout the trial and at the hearings, and she even wrote a character letter to the judge ahead of his sentencing earlier this month that made it sound like their marriage was still going strong, calling him her "life-saving partner."
"We need him more than you can imagine. I know he has been convicted of serious crimes. But the man I married has only been an extraordinary husband to me and a devoted father to our daughter," she wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Underground Bunker.

Bijou was said to be 'distraught' over Danny's sentencing.
As a source told People, she has reportedly been hoping that this wouldn't be the end of the road for him.
"She is in touch with his lawyer. They are planning appeals. She tries to stay hopeful," the insider said.
