Don Lemon Calls Megyn Kelly ‘the Worst Person in Television’ After She Slammed Joy Reid

There have been major shuffles at NBC and MSNBC this week, and amid the news of both Lester Holt and Joy Reid’s departures, a very public feud has broken out. Following the announcement that Joy (and her show, The ReidOut) would be leaving MSNBC, conservative talk show host Megyn Kelly was quick to slam the news anchor. But it didn’t take long for Don Lemon to fire back at Megyn, either …

The news of Joy’s exit broke on Sunday.

As reported by People, Rebecca Kulter, MSNBC’s new president, announced that Joy was out at the network in a statement issued earlier this week. The anchor had been hosting her series The ReidOut for nearly five years.

“Joy Reid is leaving the network and we thank her for her countless contributions over the years,” read the statement. “Her work has been recognized with several esteemed honors, including most recently, the 2025 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding News Series.”

Megyn responded in a post on X.

“Remember when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘white women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her?” Megyn wrote in her post on the platform. “Who’s crying now, Joy? Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long.”

Don Lemon fired back at Megyn on his YouTube channel.

The longtime news anchor did not mince words – or shy away from profanity – in his response.

“So let me just say to Megyn Kelly, in my 30-some years as a journalist and my 50-some years as a person of color: Go f— yourself. Okay?” he said.

He then went on to turn some of Megyn’s own words against her, adding, “The worst person from television was fired from NBC and the Today show a few years ago, and that was Megyn Kelly.”

He admitted that he was once “friendly” with Megyn, but obviously, that has since changed. “I usually don’t like to talk about her because she’s one of those people, she thrives on it. She has built the second part of her career on being a troll,” he said.

So far, Megyn doesn’t seem to be apologizing.

Megyn reposted a video of Joy crying about losing her job on X and didn’t appear to be too moved by her tears.

“Joy Reid has viciously mocked the tears of every white person she’s helped cancel over the years for some imaginary racial slight,” she wrote. “She’s had zero empathy for anyone. Now she wants us to feel sorry for her. WE DON’T.”
