President Donald Trump has been known to share controversial AI-generated content via social media. Donald Trump Jr. appears to be taking after his father in this way. On July 29, the younger Trump took to Instagram to share an AI-generated photo of his dad in an all-denim outfit. In the post, Don Jr. described his dad as “so hot.” Some found the post pretty “creepy,” but others believe it’s just a “distraction.”
Don Jr. says his dad looks ‘so hot’ in the fake photo.
“That Hanse … Um, Donald is so hot right now!!!” Don Jr. captioned the image. He posted it amid significant discourse about a controversial American Eagle ad campaign featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. The campaign uses the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” alluding to the word “genes.” Critics have slammed the campaign for promoting eugenics.
In response to Don Jr.’s post, some Trump supporters referenced the controversial campaign.
Some conservatives, including Senator Ted Cruz, have accused critics of the campaign of overreacting. “Wow. Now the crazy Left has come out against beautiful women. I’m sure that will poll well …” Cruz wrote on X, insinuating that people were only upset about the ad campaign because it featured a “beautiful” woman.
Reacting to Don Jr.’s post about his “hot” dad, some people poked fun at those who slammed the ad — which also draws inspiration from a controversial Calvin Klein ad that sexualized Brooke Shields when she was just 15 years old.
“Another person with great jeans,” someone commented on Don Jr.’s post. Others specifically used the word “genes,” writing things like, “Love your good genes.”
Other Trump supporters told Don Jr. that the post was “hilarious” and praised his “trolling.” One person even agreed that the AI-generated photo of the president looked “smoking hot.”
But others found it pretty disgusting.
Yeah, he did seem to be trolling — which many critics found immature. One of them wrote, “Imagine being so immature to post this and call your own dad HOT.” Others called it “creepy.”
“You lust for your father?” another critic questioned. Someone else commented, “He sees Sydney Sweeney in those jeans, and his first thought is she is hot like my dad.”
Although many acknowledged that the post was “disturbing,” they thought it was a “distraction” from the controversy surrounding the president’s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. A fourth critic simply wrote, “Release the Epstein files.”
