If you ask anyone in Donald Trump’s inner circle about what he knows and what topic he’s an expert in, they might have no shortage of answers. That’s just the way the unending faith in Trump goes, especially when it comes to his kids. This includes Donald Trump Jr., who posted on X (formerly Twitter) about his dad’s knowledge of sports.
According to Donald Jr., Trump is such a big sports fan that he knows more about the topic than most people who are not a professional in the sports world. Apparently, Trump can best pretty much anyone on sports trivia.Well, more or less. And that’s according to his eldest son. But after Donald Jr. posted that, people were quick to call him out for his cringe support of the dad who publicly stated he wouldn’t be attending his wedding.

In Donald Trump Jr.’s X post, he shared a video of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul stating that she wants to hear Trump’s response about the 1993 Knicks title team. That year, the Chicago Bulls won the title, so it would be a trick question. But, according to Donald Jr., Trump would probably clock that right away. He is the biggest sports fan in the world, after all.
“Anyone who knows my father knows he probably knows more about sports than just about any human being not in the business,” Donald Jr. wrote in his X post. “Kathy’s failed soundbite ain’t gonna land well…just like her policies.”
Clearly, this was Donald Jr.’s way of calling out the New York politician and defending his dad in one breath. But did Trump really need to be defended? It’s hard to believe that anyone actually thinks Donald Jr. is right in his assessment of his dad’s sports knowledge, but OK.

To be clear, no one seems to believe that Trump actually knows everything there is to know about sports. Sure, the guy is an avid golfer and apparently he has a vested interest in MMA fighting. But it’s a wild leap to say he knows more about sports than nearly anyone else in the world who isn’t a professional athlete or sports official.
“We know! He knows more about everything than anyone, because he tells us every single day,” an X user wrote in response to Donald Jr.’s post. “Realistically, he has the IQ of a garden gnome.”
Another sarcasm-laden response said, “Oh, we know! He knows more about taxes, trade, construction,campaign finance, drones, technology, infrastructure,polls, debt, visas, banking, renewable energy,windmills, courts, grass — he told us he did. Just amazing.”
Trump still didn’t go to his son’s wedding, though.

After Donald Jr. made the random post calling out the New York governor, users on X called him out for appearing just a tad desperate. Again, this post came after Trump made it clear he would not be attending Donald Jr.’s wedding, and after the event took place. It certainly looks like the eldest boy in the family is after some of Daddy’s love and affection, a la Succession.
“Are you Meghan McCain?” One user on X commented. “My father my father my father my father my father my father. My father didn’t go to my wedding.”
“No he doesn’t. He’s an idiot and he doesn’t like you, Kendall,” another person wrote. The “Kendall” is likely a reference to the second eldest son in the HBO series Succession, who often does literally anything for his hardened dad’s approval. Spoiler alert: it never works out in his favor.
Someone else added, “You daddy (who doesn’t love you) says he knows more about EVERYTHING than anyone. Taxes, healthcare, ‘nuclear’…it’s all bulls–t. He’s a moron.”
