The past year hasn’t been an easy one for the royal family as both Kate Middleton and King Charles have faced cancer diagnoses. And though the palace has shared updates on how they’re doing here and there, the latest update is coming from a very unexpected place. After president-elect Donald Trump met with Prince William this week, he shared what Will told him about his dad’s health – and it’s not clear whether he actually had the prince’s permission.

Donald and Prince William met face to face in Paris this week.
After William and Donald both attended the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral on Saturday, they met for about 40 minutes at the British ambassador’s residence in Paris. Kensington Palace told the BBC that the meeting between the men was “warm and friendly.” During their conversation, they mainly focused on the relationship between the US and the UK, but according to Donald, they also talked about Will’s family.
Later, Donald spilled the details of the conversation to the New York Post.
While talking to the newspaper, Donald said that his chat with Will was “great” and even included a bit of talk about Kate Middleton, who completed chemotherapy in September.
“I had a great talk with the prince. And I asked him about his wife and he said she’s doing well,” he said.
He also shared what William had told him about Charles' health.
“And I asked him about his father and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad,” Donald said. “We had a great talk for half an hour, a little more than half an hour. We had a great, great talk.”

Some people don't like that Donald was so forthcoming with that information.
After Donald’s interview with the New York Post went live, the Washington Post reported that his comments are “getting attention in Britain because the royal family has said so little about the king’s health status — and because it is rare for people to publicly dish after official meetings with British royals.”
“If you are in a foreign government position, DO NOT tell Trump anything you don’t want publicly known,” one person wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
For William's part, Donald had nothing but positive things to say.
In fact, he even made a point to tell the New York Post that William is even more good looking in person than he is in pictures.
“He’s a good-looking guy,” he said. “He looked really, very handsome last night. Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”
