Drew Barrymore’s Daughter Shamed Her Over Playboy Cover in Response to Crop Top Rule

Now that Drew Barrymore's daughters are getting older, it sounds like Olive and Frankie are really giving this celebrity mom a run for her money! During an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show this week, she told the audience about her daughter shamelessly calling her out when Drew tried to tell her that she wasn't allowed to wear a crop top. After hearing what happened, we have to admit that her kid does have a point – and it sounds like Drew knows it.

Drew and guest Christina Aguilera were taking about parenting.

Because they both have kids — Christina is mom to Max, 15, and Summer, 9 — they had a lot of common ground to cover. During the interview, Christina said she's striving to be a safe space for her kids.

"You have to be able to communicate with your kids and be strong enough to have real talks with them. And there’s certain age-appropriate ways to do that," she said. "If it’s sexualities or genders or this or that. My kids are exposed to a plethora of so many different types of personalities and sexual preferences and politics."

Drew said she grew up in a 'liberal' household, too.

But being in the spotlight means her daughters know about everything she did when she was younger — and one of them has even learned how to use it against her.

"My daughter wants to wear a crop top. I’ll say no and she’ll go, 'You were on the cover of Playboy,'" Drew said.

Well … it's true!

Christina has run into similar problems.

"I knew it was coming the day I wore chaps. I’m like, 'One day.' Because my daughter wants to wear a crop top too and I’m like, 'Can we just pull it down?' I see myself doing that," she said.

As moms, many of us run into moments where we want our kids do so as we say now and not as we did when we were their age.

Drew has talked about her motherhood experience a lot.

Even though she tends to keep photos of her daughters private, only rarely sharing a glimpse of Olive and Frankie, she's been an open book when it comes to the way she feels about parenting.

"It's funny, I was so unforgiving of myself when my kids were younger and now that they're almost — Frankie's almost 9 and Olive's like 10, it's shifted into something very different and I'm having the best time ever," Drew said during an appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast last year.

One day, her kids will understand her rules.

But with the preteen and teenage years right around the corner, Drew may have her work cut out for her.

Fortunately, her girls do have the chance to learn from the amazing life that Drew has led so far – but they might slam a few doors while arguing with Mom like any other girls their age would along the way.
