Elliot Page Shares Shirtless Pic Showing Chest Scars After Overcoming Dysphoria Struggles

The summer swelter is no longer a problem for Elliot Page. The actor recently shared a shirtless selfie, celebrating his body and his new outlook on summertime now that he's no longer suffering from body dysphoria. We absolutely love this for him!

Elliot shared the post on Wednesday.

"Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer," he captioned the first topless post-surgery photo of himself. "No layers, just a T-shirt — or layers and oh so sweaty — constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T. It feels so f'ing good soaking in the sun now."

He used his platform to elevate the importance of gender-affirming care.

He used the hashtag "transjoy" as he continued to celebrate his happiness.

"I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body," the post continued. "I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon."

And share he will. Elliot has recently penned a book about his experiences.

The book drops June 6.

Elliot hopes to give a voice to the voiceless with his new book Pageboy, which will cover his captivating story and hopefully help others feel less alone.

"Trans people are facing increasing attacks, from physical violence to the banning of healthcare, and our humanity is regularly 'debated' in the media," he captioned the post where he revealed the book's cover. "The act of writing, reading, and sharing the multitude of our experiences is an important step in standing up to those who wish to silence and harm us."

Fans have come out big time in support.

"So grateful to witness this new and free expression of you," one person posted.

Another fan wrote about how much they "love to see some trans joy."

And of course, there were those whom Elliot's message seemed especially meaningful. "This is hyping me up! I have top surgery in FIFTY days," one person posted with a heart emoji. "Thank you for this reminder!"

We love this for Elliot.

At a time when the country seems especially divided and almost every topic has become extremely polarizing, it's wonderful to see someone with such a large platform speaking out (and speaking up) for the trans community.

Hopefully Elliot's story helps more people find their own joy and live their best lives.
