Elon Musk ‘Make America Wait Again’ Sculpture Has Critics Talking

Just because Elon Musk is no longer Donald Trump’s BFF and right-hand man, it doesn’t mean you’re done seeing his face in the public eye. Literally, his face is out there in the form of a giant sculpture on the back of a truck. The truck has made the rounds through national parks in the US, per Fox News, with the slogan ‘Make America Wait Again’ along with it.

This is, of course, a play on Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan that he has used for years, both during and after campaigns. The slogan on the Musk statue is in reference to allegedly longer lines and wait times to see everything there is to see at various national parks across the US. The 12-foot sculpture has a label on the bottom with the words: ‘Now with longer lines thanks to DOGE cuts!’

Elon Musk’s giant ‘Make America Wait Again’ sculpture at national parks went viral.

An anonymous investor who is one of the people in charge of commissioning the statue spoke to Fox News. The investor said it was made with “part protest, part performance art” in mind. It was also created to draw attention to the budget cuts and layoffs across national parks as a result of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiatives. Because of those cuts in the National Parks Service, there are longer lines in and out of parks, and longer wait times for people who want to enjoy what the parks have to offer.

“However you feel about the DOGE cuts, and we’re using that word tongue-in-cheek, the reality is that thousands of people who love these parks and work to protect them were let go or impacted,” the anonymous benefactor told Fox News. “And nobody’s really talking about it anymore.”

The statue began popping up in national parks like Yosemite in California, Mount Rainier in Washington state, and Arches National Park in Utah. Afterward, there was a lot of discussion on social media about the 12-foot rendering of Musk’s smirking face, even from those who have not seen it in person.

People online shared their thoughts about the statue.

On a Reddit thread on which a user shared a photo of the giant Musk head at Mount Rainier National Park, someone was quick to comment, “if it weren’t for the obnoxious smirk i’d have absolutely no idea who this is supposed to be.”

Another user wrote, “That looks like an evil cartoon character.”

Others agreed that the sculpture version of Musk almost does the real life man some favors, from its chiseled jawline to its smaller forehead than many believe the real Musk has. Still, the meaning behind the statue isn’t lost on those who have nothing but negative things to say about the DOGE leader.

“Gotta applaud this person’s determination to reminding everyone of the many harms caused by MAGA/DOGE,” one user commented. “It may not seem like the biggest or most hurtful of the countless things they’ve tried to destroy, but little inconveniences for people can get them to react if they otherwise were indifferent. And it’s one of many things that should be rectified once fascism is defeated, we’re going to need to collectively work together to remember every bit of harm. I think truck person has this one covered.”
