TMZ was the first to report the sad news.
Angus died at his family's home in Oakland, California, on Monday morning.
"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways," read a statement from the family, per TMZ.
"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend," the statement continued. "Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
His mother made a 911 call at 11:30 a.m. from the residence.
TMZ reported that, at the time, she mentioned that it was a "possible overdose" and that her son didn't have a pulse. According to what a source close to the family told the news outlet, he had been dealing with "severe suicidal thoughts" after burying his father in Ireland and had been staying with family to help him manage them.
His family wants fans to hang onto happy memories of Angus.
Their statement continued, "We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."
Even in his short life and career, Angus undoubtedly left his mark, including by playing the lovable drug dealer Fezco on Euphoria.
His costars are already paying tribute to him.
Javon Walton, who plays Ashtray on Euphoria, was one of the first members of the cast to share a tribute to Angus on social media, sharing a photo of the two of them together. He wrote, "rest easy brother."
