When Brody Jenner tied the knot with Tia Blanco over the weekend, there were two important people who weren’t in attendance: his half-sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner. But why? As it turns out, there may have been some major family drama happening that made them uncomfortable accepting the invite – even though an insider claims they both definitely received one, regardless of what might have been going on.
Tia and Brody, who share 2-year-old daughter Honey, got married in Malibu at the home of Brody’s mom, Linda Thompson. He, Kylie, and Kendall all share the same parent, Caitlyn Jenner, though of course, Kendall and Kylie’s mom is Kris Jenner.
“Brody personally invited Kylie and Kendall more than a few months back,” a source told The Sun. “The official line is that both girls already had other commitments, so unfortunately they were not able to attend.”
The insider went on to claim that Kylie and Kendall could have made it work if they truly wanted to, but instead, they decided to stay away, reportedly because of a feud that’s playing out between Kris and Linda. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like Kendall and Kylie are taking their mom’s side on this one.
“Linda is quite a character, and has a lot to say about Kris – and vice versa,” the source said. “It was fireworks for a few years, and that drama did carry through into the kids.”
It probably doesn’t help that Brody doesn’t love Kris because of her feud with his mom. “He’s never gotten over it, and so when the siblings were trying to build relationships, Brody would often fall back into this narrative of blaming Kris for everything,” the insider added.
Meanwhile, Kylie has reportedly never felt much like she belongs in the Jenner family to begin with.
“Kylie has admitted to friends she just feels like a stranger in the Jenner family unit,” said the source. “She has nothing in common with them. She feels her place is as part of the Kardashians.”
Kylie and Kendall weren’t the only important people missing from the wedding. Brody’s longtime friend (and former costar on The Hills) Spencer Pratt wasn’t there, either, and told fans on TikTok it was because wife Heidi Montag’s sister, Holly, was getting married on the same day.
