Some of those who snark on the Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On fame refer to cousin Amy Duggar as “Famy.” According to many people on Reddit and social media groups that criticize the Duggar family, Amy has wanted to be famous for some time, thus her cheeky nickname that has stuck online, even if Amy doesn’t know it. To some, that mentality extends to her son, Dax King, whom she shares with husband Dillon King.
Dax is 5 years old, and Amy appears to be all about making sure he has some opportunities that she perhaps didn’t have at the same age. Granted, Amy was a regular on 19 Kids and Counting and she did try to become a country singer in Nashville at one point. She isn’t a model, however, and she is often quick to brag about Dax’s modeling on Instagram. Naturally, her harshest critics are a little over it.
Fans say Amy Duggar keeps bragging about her son Dax’s modeling gigs.
Amy shared an Instagram photo on March 21, 2025, of Dax in a promotional photo for a kids’ toy grill set at wholesale retailer Sam’s Club. She also shared a video in the same post of Dax playing with the set. She captioned it, “proud of this lil guy!” with a hashtag about Sam’s Club and one about modeling. This wasn’t Dax’s first foray into the modeling world, though.
In 2024, Amy shared a video of Dax playing in her Instagram Stories with text on the screen that read, “He modeled from 11:30 a.m. – 6:40 p.m. and still has energy! How the heck?!”
Someone shared the post on Reddit soon after, and Duggar critics were quick to jump on Amy for not only humble bragging about her son’s modeling gig but also for having him work such long hours as a child model.
“How old is this kid? He worked for over seven hours, is that even legal?” One user commented on the Reddit thread. “Famy really takes after [Jim Bob Duggar]. I wonder how much money will be left for Daxy.”
Another user commented, “Is she really bragging about forcing her child to work? Let him be a normal kid.”
On April 30, 2024, Amy posted an Instagram video of Dax in various outfits. She tagged a clothing store and captioned the post, “Model child serving up looks and silliness! Found the cutest outfits.”
Amy faced criticism for her husband’s lawsuits too.
Not only have those who snark on the Duggar family been quick to point out how much Amy talks about Dax’s modeling career, but they also can’t help but zero in on other parts of her private life. The trouble is that when you’re in the public eye, not much is left up for interpretation. So when some eagle-eyed internet sleuths found public records about husband Dillon’s lawsuits pertaining to his business, they were quick to share details.
In January 2024, Dillon was sued after he failed to pay rent on his restaurant Wellington’s, which is now closed. According to court records obtained by the U.S. Sun, a judgment of more than $156,900 was placed against Dillon for his failure to pay rent and back rent.
When someone shared further details of the records, including screenshots, on Reddit, one user commented, “Daxxy made the money appear,” in clear reference to Dax’s modeling that Amy is often quick to share updates about.
