Farrah Abraham Shocks Fans by Letting Her 13-Year-Old Daughter Get a Facial Piercing

Former Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham's latest parenting decision has caused a lot of people to raise their eyebrows — but then again, doesn't this happen to her every day? The 30-year-old shared photos of her daughter Sophia celebrating her birthday with an unusual gift: a septum ring. She posted the proof on social media, and people had some thoughts.

It's hard to believe that baby Sophia is a teen now.

Fans of MTV's 16 and Pregnant were first introduced to her while Farrah was still pregnant. That could be why it's so hard for us to wrap our minds around the fact that Soph is now a teen.

And according to Instagram, Farrah came up with a really adult way to ring in her little girl's milestone birthday.

Farrah shared some snaps from the goth-glam party she threw for her daughter.

Sophia looked like she was living every teen's dream. The event space was decked out in purple and black (even her hair matched the decor) and filled to the brim with fun touches like an over-the-top tiered birthday cake and disco ball drinkware.

However, it seems like the thing that stood out the most for fans was the fact that Farrah approved a septum ring for the new teen.

Farrah shared several snaps from the cartilage piercing process.

According to Farrah's posts, the septum ring has been a dream of Sophia's. It looks like her mom was just fulfilling the birthday girl's big wish.

In fact, the new teen was all smiles after getting the painful piercing done, so it's clear that she was really happy with the gift. However, the rest of the internet is decidedly less enthused about it.

People feel like Sophia is just too young for facial piercings.

Popular gossip columnist Katie Joy shared the news on her Without a Crystal Ball Instagram page, alongside several snaps of the teen. "In California, piercings are legal as long as a parent is present and consents," she wrote in part of her caption before asking people what they thought about the decision.

"That's probably the least worrisome thing about that family," one person wrote.

Another shared a similar take, writing, "If I had a kid I wouldn't let them do it that young. But, this is far from the worst thing Farrah has ever done."

We highly doubt Farrah cares what other people think about her choices.

Farrah notoriously marches to the beat of her own drumm — even when that beat can get her canned from her cushy MTV gig — so we don't think she's too worried about what her critics have to say.

We can say one thing for sure: Farrah definitely made the big 1-3 a birthday Sophia will never forget.
