What to Know
As the dust settles from Taylor Swift’s elaborate wedding to Travis Kelce over the weekend, we’re getting more and more details about what was actually going on behind closed doors at Madison Square Garden on July 3.
We’re still waiting on photos of the bride and groom, but we do have our first peek at the bouquet Taylor was carrying when she was walking down the aisle, and it’s not quite what people were expecting.
The woman who caught Taylor’s bouquet has revealed herself.
The lucky lady was Ashley Smith. She was at the wedding as the plus one to her brother, Trey Smith, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs with the groom, and as she shared in this Instagram post, she was lucky enough to catch the bouquet, and according to tradition, this means she’s the next to get married. She better add Taylor to her wedding guest list!
Swipe over on the post and you’ll see a couple of photos with the bouquet, which is… well, looking a bit sparse. For the money that Taylor and Travis must have laid out for this wedding, it seems like people were expecting a lot more from this bouquet.
People aren’t very impressed by the flowers.

The comments on Ashley’s post are all super kind — as they should be — but Taylor’s bouquet is absolutely getting roasted on other parts of social media, including X, where the photos that she shared of it went viral.
“Was Taylor on a budget with the bouquet?” one person asked.
“That bouquet looks like it’s been through battle,” another wrote. “I need to know what Ashely [sic] had to go through to get (what seems to be) a part of it.”
Someone also appeared on the scene to explain that this probably wasn’t Taylor’s bouquet, writing, “I work on weddings and that is a toss bouquet and not her actual bouquet. We make them to… toss. So the bride doesn’t have to actually toss her own,” to which someone else replied, “Let’s hope you make them better than whatever this is.” Yikes!
To be totally fair, this likely wasn’t Taylor’s actual bouquet.

Just like that one fan pointed out, brides don’t usually toss their actual bouquets. Instead, many choose to keep their flowers and have them preserved in some way, which is probably what Taylor is doing, considering what a sentimental person she tends to be.
However, the floral arrangement itself is a little sad, even for a bouquet toss bouquet, so hopefully her floral vision was better represented in the real thing that she actually did carry down the aisle. After all, reports suggest that the theme of her wedding was “secret garden,” so the flowers better have been popping.
Anytime Taylor wants to share those wedding photos, we can finally put this all to rest.
