The rumor mill started churning after a TikTok user said she saw the pair out on a date.
The OP shared a text exchange from another friend in the food service industry where she told her friend that she saw the pair out on a date.
And it apparently wasn't just a platonic "how about we go grab a bite" type of get-together. Reportedly, there was plenty of PDA going on — a sure sign that things had turned romantic between the two.
The story was confirmed by an eye witness.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, another person in the restaurant confirmed that the pair had been spotted out at the eatery, saying things seemed romantic in nature since "they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date."
"Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 PM. They walked in holding hands and were kissing," the source continued. "Most restaurant staff and restaurant goers didn't notice them."
Zayn's Instagram activity hints at a personal relationship with Selena.
The former One Direction singer may have 49.1 million followers on his public account, but he's only returned the favor to 17 other Instagram users, and Selena is one of them.
Fans are already rooting for these two. While the rumored couple has not yet publicly acknowledged any budding romance, Zayn's ex seems to have privately addressed the news.
A source close to Gigi told Us Weekly that the model was happy for her ex.
Apparently, Gigi doesn't care who the next important woman in Zayn's life is, as long as he remembers his obligation to a special little girl: Their 2-year-old daughter.
"As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good coparent to Khai, she's fine with whoever he goes out with," the source explained before adding that Gigi has "moved on" from her ex and has been "having fun" of her own since they split up for good in 2021.

We love how cool Gigi is being about all of this.
With all the hate Selena gets from fans of her ex Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey Bieber, it would've been easy for Gigi to turn on her friend and get the internet riled up.
Instead, it seems like she's truly content to have her ex living his best life, as long as it doesn't interfere with his relationship with their daughter. We love to see it.
