Grimes didn’t seem to know that her son X would be joining his dad, Elon Musk, at a White House press conference on Tuesday, February 11. In the days that followed, photos and videos of X Æ A-Xii, who is 4 years old, continued to circulate on social media. Now, the Canadian musician, 36, has one request: Please stop sharing photos of her son.

Grimes wants the photo sharing to come to a stop.
When asked about X’s appearance at a White House press conference with Elon Musk and President Donald Trump during an interview with Time magazine, Grimes didn’t say a ton. However, she did say that she “would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere.” Explaining her reasoning, she added, “I think fame is something you should consent to.”
“Obviously, things will just be what they are,” she continued. “But I would really, really appreciate that. I can only ask, so I’m just asking.”
She seemingly learned that her son attended the press conference via social media.
On February 11, a fan wrote to Grimes on X to tell her that her son looked “so cute” at the White House. “Lil X was very polite today! You raised him well,” the fan wrote.
This seemed to be the first time Grimes was hearing about her 4-year-old attending the press conference with his father. “He should not be in public like this,” Grimes wrote back. “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

Grimes said this response was simply ‘a reply.’
During her recent interview with Time magazine, Grimes spoke about how her response to her son’s White House appearance was covered in the media. While many headlines suggested that she criticized or called out her ex, she explained that this was not entirely accurate. “It was like, ‘Grimes slams,’ ‘Grimes speaks out,'” she told Time, referring to the media coverage. “It’s like, OK, it was a reply.”
Some fans have pushed Grimes to criticize her ex.
While I deeply respect your concern- it is unhealthy that people are this upset when I have not even been online yet today and am only just learning about this controversy now. I don't know what happened and I will not make a rash statement – I am not a citizen of this country.…

Amid Elon’s controversial involvement in American politics, several fans have tried to ask Grimes to share how she feels. Grimes has seemed hesitant to outright condemn Elon, who is leading the Department of Government Efficiency, even though he’s not an elected official. In one post on X, Grimes wrote that “various viral posts articles and memes from the past weeks have caused a lot of people to become very upset.” However, she said that “it’s out of my control and I usually don’t see it until it’s over.”
Many fans also asked Grimes to release a statement in response to her ex’s Inauguration Day salute. At the time, Grimes wrote that she hadn’t heard about what happened yet. She also expressed frustration at being expected to “make a statement every time [Elon] does something.”
“I am not him,” she wrote at the time.
Recently, Grimes begged Elon to respond during their child’s ‘medical crisis.’
Grimes and Elon Musk share three children. Recently, Grimes took to X in attempt to reach out to Elon, urging him to either respond to her or “designate or hire someone who can.”
“Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly, but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation,” the musician wrote in a now-deleted post. After seeing the post, some fans began to understand why Grimes might be hesitant to speak out against her ex.
