Gypsy Rose Blanchard is pregnant and gearing up for motherhood. She made the big announcement on her YouTube channel on July 9, 2024. The baby's father is her boyfriend Ken Urker.
It is easy to assume this moment is full of emotions for The Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup star. She was the victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy at the hands of her own mother Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard. She served seven years in prison for her involvement with Dee Dee's murder and was released in December 2023.
Gypsy Rose addressed the concerns many of her supporters might have. "I know that there are going to be people who feel like I'm not ready to be a mother, and I don't know if anyone's really ready to be a mother," she mused. It's a valid point.
Gypsy Rose also acknowledged that she didn't have a good example of motherhood, but that she won't let that stop her. The cycle of abuse ends with her. "All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby," she stated through tears. "I am a mother now, I am happy, and I just want to be a good mother for my child. I want to be everything my mother wasn't."
Gypsy Rose and Ken first connected in 2017 when she was still serving time. Ken watched a documentary about her and wrote her a letter of support. The following year they got engaged but soon broke up. In 2022 Gypsy Rose married another pen pal, Ryan Scott Anderson, while still in jail but had secret feelings for Ken. In April of 2024, she filed for divorce. Five days after announcing her split from Ryan, she got lunch with Ken. The pair even went on to get matching husky tattoos.
