Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Says She Met ‘Creeps’ Online After Her Mom Banned Her From Dating

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has had a pretty difficult life. In the years since she was released from prison, she’s been sharing a lot about what was going on in her life before her involvement in mother Dee Dee Blanchard’s murder in 2015.

During a new podcast appearance this week, Gypsy said she met a lot of “creeps” online after trying to satisfy her curiosity about men after Dee Dee forbid her from dating, and she ended up doing things she’s “not proud of.”

Gypsy-Rose said her mother was “anti-men.”

While appearing on this week’s episode of Paul C. Brunson’s podcast, We Need to Talk, Gypsy said her mom, who remained single for years after Gypsy’s birth, made it very clear to her that dating would be off limits for her due to her own distrust of men.

“My mom was very anti-men. She really wanted me to be a nun, even though I never expressed to her that I wanted to be one,” Gypsy explained. “So knowing that, I always knew she wouldn’t want me to date. You can’t stop the curiosity in a child or a teen.”

She turned to the internet to find out what her mom forbid her from learning in person.

Gypsy met men online who she knew were “predatory” in her mission to find out what she was missing by Dee Dee keeping her from interacting with men.

“I went to the internet and I found creeps on the internet,” she said. “I did things on the internet I’m not proud of, like, take my clothes off for strangers. These men that I would, you know, meet online, they were predatory. And I wasn’t thinking anything different other than, ‘yeah, this is an experience that I’ve had before.'”

Gypsy also met former boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn online, who would later be convicted of Dee Dee’s murder, so a lot of dangerous things were happening on Gypsy’s computer during those years that her mother had no idea about.

That’s not the only new disturbing detail she shared about her childhood in the interview.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Gypsy shared that her mom once convinced a doctor to remove her salivary glands by tricking him into thinking that she had a problem with drooling.

“My mom would put Orajel before we would go into the doctor’s appointment on my mouth, to make me drool,” Gypsy said. “Okay, so upon examination, the doctor saw me drool. It’s excessive drooling. ‘There is a way to take care of that. So let’s remove the salivary glands.'”

Gypsy said that one doctor would eventually suspect that she was a victim of Munchausen by proxy, but believes that once her mom found out that the doctor was suspicious of her, she decided to never return to avoid being caught.
