It sounds like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being forced to give up their wedding gift from the late Queen Elizabeth. Reportedly, King Charles has evicted Meghan and Harry from Frogmore Cottage, and what's even more shocking is that it's so he can pass it on to his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, instead.
King Charles reportedly evicted Meghan and Harry after Harry's memoir was released.
According to royal expert Omid Scobie, King Charles has told his youngest son that the royal family now needs the property for "someone else," which was later revealed to be Prince Andrew.
Meghan and Harry paid back the money they used to renovate the property and were even paying rent to the Crown Estate on the property so they'd have somewhere safe to stay when they visit the UK. But now, it sounds like their lease has abruptly ended.
They're expected to have their stuff out of the home by the end of summer.
"Initially they were given just weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation," an inside source told Scobie.
Apparently, Charles was "spitting mad" after the release of Spare in January, and it was the push he needed to kick Harry and Meghan out of what they considered their "forever home."
This may be Charles' way of punishing Harry for what he wrote in his book.
Harry didn't exactly paint his father in a positive light in the pages of Spare, and now, it seems like this is his consequence.
"It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment," a friend of Meghan and Harry's told Scobie. "It’s like [the family] want to cut them out of the picture for good."
It's going to take some time to pack everything.
Though Meghan and Harry have obviously established their main home base in California, Frogmore was their landing pad in the UK, and it is filled with their belongings.
"This is not just some random rental they keep for convenience. Every drawer is full, every closet is packed … It’s a real family home," a source said.
This makes Charles' coronation a bit more interesting.
After being dealt a blow like this, it seems more doubtful than ever that Meghan and Harry will make the trip across the pond for Charles' coronation in May, which is already shaping up to be a rather controversial event.
Just when we thought things in this family couldn't get worse …
