Hilary Duff’s Husband Matthew Koma Makes Snarky Reference to Ashley Tisdale’s Mom Group Drama

Since Ashley Tisdale‘s essay about leaving her “toxic” mom group went viral earlier this week, people have been determined to figure out which mom friends she’s talking about, especially if they happen to be the more famous ladies in her former circle, like Hilary Duff.

While Hilary has yet to confirm or deny her involvement in the group Ashley was writing about, it seems like her husband might have with the snarky Instagram Stories post he made once the article was published…

Ashley’s essay claimed she found herself in “high school” level mom group drama.

In the post, which was published by The Cut, Ashley wrote that she’d found a group of moms she felt close to after welcoming her first child, daughter Jupiter, into the world in 2020, but she quickly realized that there was too much drama for her in that social circle.

After she was left out of their group hangs a few times, she decided to leave them behind, and now, she’s sharing her experience with the world. In the past, the friend group she’s been spotted with are California-based celebrity moms, including Hilary, Meghan Trainor, and Mandy Moore.

Now, Matthew is fighting back.

Though the Instagram Stories post that Matthew shared on Tuesday night has since expired, as we all know, the internet is forever, and screenshots have appeared all over the place, including Reddit.

Photoshopping his face over Ashley’s in the photo of her that was published by The Cut, he added his own headline: “When You’re the Most Self Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus to Their Actual Toddlers.”

Ouch. But also, it is kind of hilarious, and this is a man who doesn’t play about his wife.

There are new rumors about what went on behind the scenes.

As one Redditor pointed out, after the LA wildfires last year had a significant impact on their community (and on Mandy and their family specifically), Hilary jumped in to help however she could, but Ashley supposedly didn’t seem to be as concerned as she should have been about the situation.

“At that same time, Ashley was apparently bragging to the group about buying a new home RIGHT after the fires, while the whole community was understandably still reeling, real estate was probably… a little morally dubious, Mandy wasn’t on her feet yet, and Mandy was taking heat online for seeking help. And Ashley felt a type of way that people weren’t sufficiently congratulatory to her,” the commenter wrote.

Of course, this is unverified information, but it does make sense, and the timeline checks out, too.

So far, Hilary hasn’t shared whether or not she’s involved herself, but Matthew’s post seems like a pretty clear message to us.
