Paparazzi caught up with Hugh on Saturday.

In video obtained by TMZ that was taken on Saturday — one day after the divorce news broke — Hugh admitted that it's a "difficult time" for him right now.

"I appreciate your thoughts, thank you," he added.

He didn't share any further details about the split.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee shared their news publicly on Friday.

The couple released a joint statement to People, sharing that it would be the "sole statement" they would make on the subject:

"We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

The couple has two children.

Hugh and Deborra-Lee got married less than a year after meeting on the set of the TV show Corelli in 1995, officially tying the knot on April 11, 1996. They have two children together: Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.

They celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in April.

At the time, Hugh shared a photo of the two of them together on Instagram, along with a heartfelt caption.

"I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart," he wrote.

This can't be an easy time for their family.

We'll be thinking of Hugh and Deborra-Lee (and their children) as they navigate this new phase of their lives together. Here's hoping they have plenty of support and privacy now that the news is out.
