The love story between to stars in their own rights starts with a sweet story that started 20 years before they were an item. In the world of important people, Jennifer Lopez, a global superstar, and Alex Rodriguez, a star baseball player, first came into contact when J.Lo signed a photograph of herself for Alex. Fast forward to today, and the two are engaged to be married — and are raising their blended family under the same roof. Their love story is adorable and, in many ways, it's still in the beginning stages.
In March 2017, the two were confirmed to be a couple, and a few weeks later, news of the celebrity powerhouse was confirmed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Apparently, Alex texted Jennifer, asked her out for dinner, and the two became serious about each other. People reported that the couple made plans to move in with each other by October of that year and, of course, with it came engagement rumors.
Those rumors turned out to not be too far out there, because two years later, on March 2019, the two officially announced their engagement. The couple mentioned that they're in no rush to get married, but living together — and raising their blended family — is something they really love doing. It sounds like these two have a beautifully, supportive relationship, and according to TopTenRealEstateDeals, the pair just purchased a gorgeous new home together.
The photos are incredible, and it's clear looking through them the qualities that make the home what it is. Take a look inside and see what was special enough in this home for the two to jump at the deal.
Welcome Home, J.Lo & A-Rod
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez recently purchased the $40 million waterfront mansion in the super swanky area on Miami's Star Island, which super-rich CEOs, and other entertainers already call home. It's situated on almost of acre of land, and has 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and so much more.
A Backyard With a Dock View
Looking at this backyard, it's easy to see why the couple fell in love with this space. There is a 100-foot dock for the couple to run and play on with their children, and it's a dream if they're fans of boating being right off Biscayne Bay. The manicured privacy hedges run the length of their property, offering some added security protection.
Upside View
If the dock and all that space didn't do us in, when it comes to jealousy, this view is going to get us there. That infinity pool, and the palm tress lining the length of the pool are divine. We imagine the sunset view from this space is all Jennifer and Alex need to remind them of all the beauty in the world.
Time to Lounge
There is enough space back here to have a big party, and when that's able to happen again, every seat has a wicked view. We see the ceiling fans above the seating to help keep everyone cool on the hot Florida days, and there's so much space here for the kids to run around and play.
OK, Closet!
We know celebrity mansions — with all the bedrooms and bathrooms they come with — don't have closets that the rest of us have in our homes. Often, they're bigger than our master bedrooms, and that's definitely this amazing closet in their new home. It's basically a showroom, and there's no doubt that we're jealous.
Yes, This Is the Bathroom
Is the shower visible? Yes. That's what we're looking at here in the master bathroom, and the elegant oversized shower that has all the shower heads for a relaxing clean. There's a sizable soaker tub right behind, and the white tiles juxtapose with the darker wood floors and trim.
This Is a Master
The master bedroom is bigger than most people's living room, and even with a king-sized bed, two comfortable lounge chairs, and a fireplace, the room doesn't feel small at all. The floor-to-ceiling windows help bring in all the light, and it feels so relaxing looking at the view.
Kitchen Seating
This home has a lot of space. There's over 14,000 square feet in total, so there's no issues with fitting in a large dining table. This is one of several sitting areas in the kitchen, and we can see the open concept looking right into the living room — and the windows help let all the sunshine in.
Formal TV Room
It's hard to picture exactly what this room is for, but with all the seating, and the television hanging on the wall, we're guessing it's more of a multipurpose room than anything else. The couches are an interesting color choice, but Jennifer and Alex may end up switching that up.
Another Television Room
This room appears to be another lounge or television room. There are different couches, but it may just be off the side to the previous photograph. This room also has a large television on the wall, and lots of seating for friends or family to gather around and watch a game of baseball.
Wine Room
OK, so not exactly how we would choose to decorate or style this room, but it's certainly a signature conversation room. We're guessing it's a wine tasting room — or a reading room of some sort. The ornate look is an interesting choice.
More Formal Dining Room
Here's another table for guests to sit around and enjoy a meal together. There's enough space in this room to hold this table for eight and have enough space for people to comfortably walk around. We see those incredible floor-to-ceiling windows again, and it's definitely not low on light.
Music or Lounge Room
There is so much space in this home for entertaining people — with tons of seating — it's hard to know what they would do with it all. The couches here are another interesting style choice, but we peep the piano in the back corner, and there's so much space in here, too.
Heavenly Pool
We know that for multimillion dollar mansions, there are often outside amenities that make the whole investment worth it, and oh, what we would do to have a pool like this in our yard! It's a dream pool in every sense – from the size and shape, to the landscaping that adds the right touches.
Light Show
We know how amazing this yard looks during the day, and we can imagine the Lopez-Rodriguez family really having fun during the day. (Take a look at the night view!) There is no detail left that wasn't thought about in designing the backyard. With pops of color in the pool, and the lights in the palm trees, the family is likely going to be happy here.
