James Duggar Gets Called Out for His ‘Dangerous’ Driving Behavior in New Video

Fans are calling out James Duggar over some dangerous driving behavior they spotted online. The 19 Kids and Counting alum has found himself in hot water after he posted a since-expired video to his Instagram Stories, which show the 21-year-old using his phone while moving a piece of heavy-duty construction machinery.

The video made it to the DuggarsSnark subreddit.

Although the clip only stayed online for 24 hours, screenshots were captured and posted to the Duggars Snark subreddit, which is dedicated to criticizing the Duggars and their activities.

"James filming Instas while driving an oversized load down the highway," the OP captioned the stills from the video that showed James making some reckless decisions on the road.

People were rightfully concerned about what they saw.

People were upset about multiple things they spotted in the video. Not only was James using his phone while driving (an activity that's illegal in many municipalities) but he also was doing so while towing a heavy piece of equipment.

"Who needs road safety when you can just film yourself for the internet while you're operating heavy machinery?" one person wrote. "It's not like you might need to have a quick reaction time if something happens."

Some people pointed out that he was doing more than just breaking the law.

Even though many people were concerned about the potential safety issues at play, others pointed out that he was likely in violation of his license. "Is it even legal to drive such a big trailer without having a truck license?" one person asked.

Another replied that he likely has a CDL, which would be a requirement for big rigs like this. "It's not exactly rocket [science] to get your CDL," the person continued. "If one of them already had the license and they had the truck to practice with they could easily teach the others to pass the test."

Yet another person chimed in that the video could cost him his ability to drive. "He could actually lose his CDL for this."

Fortunately, nothing happened this trip, but many on the subreddit worried about next time.

James clearly made it to his destination unharmed this time, but some asked what would happen the next time he hit the road with his phone in hand. "Super happy I live like three days' drive away," one person wrote. "This is dangerous as h—."

Another chastised the former reality star for even posting it to begin with because it could show a pattern of dangerous behavior should something eventually go wrong.

The Duggars take a lot of heat for their choices.

Many of the Duggars make easy targets because of the things they do — mainly because they've all made a name for themselves by preaching modesty and morality to the masses — but we think that James deserves the criticism this time around.

Being distracted behind the wheel is never a good idea, but it's an especially bad choice when it's done while driving a vehicle so heavy that it has the potential to do so much damage if something goes wrong. Hopefully James doesn't make that mistake again!
