Some members of the Duggar family are currently on a European vacation, and not everyone is impressed with the way they've been behaving while abroad. After sharing a YouTube video documenting his travels so far, James Duggar is getting called out for perpetuating the "ugly American" stereotype. Oh, boy …
James unexpectedly ended up spending time in London.
As he explained in his vlog, he and his friend were on a journey to meet up with his family in Rome, but their connecting flight from London to Rome ended up getting delayed, leaving them with a lot more free time than they planned on.
So they decided to go explore the city — and made a few embarrassing flubs along the way.
At one point, semantics got the better of him.
James and his friend were walking around in London, which he first seemed to refer to as a "state" before his friend corrected him, and then James went on to say, "The country … whatever this is, of London."
And that was just the beginning.
People on Reddit did not approve of James' behavior.
As The Sun pointed out, a popular Duggar-related subreddit lit up with comments about James' quick trip to London.
"What a bunch of dimwits! They must have said a million times they are in London but don't seem to understand it is a city in a country," one person wrote.
Another person added, "So they didn’t do any research in advance? Like what are you guys doing?!"
It seems as if he and his friend had a blast, anyway.
On Instagram, he shared more photos from his trip, including one where he posed in front of one of the city's iconic red phone booths with Big Ben in the background. That's a keeper!
He and his pal were also able to stop by a pub for a meal before heading back to the airport to jump on their flight to Rome.
Now, the family is in Rome.
According to James' latest Instagram Stories posts, he did make it to Rome, and it looks like a few members of his family are with him, including big sister Jana Duggar. What a vacation!
We hope they share more photos and videos from the trip, but maybe while being respectful of their surroundings at the same time.
