Country singer Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, are no strangers to controversy when it comes to their political beliefs, and now Brittany is getting backlash for the way she rang in the new year. In one of her most recent Instagram posts, former president Donald Trump is kissing Brittany on the forehead, and let's just say it's earning her a lot of attention.
Brittany shared photos from their New Year's Eve celebration.
Brittany and Jason ushered in 2023 at Trump's compound at Mar-a-Lago, and that included a pretty swanky New Year's Eve party. In the first photo, the couple is joined by Trump and his wife, Melania, who they seemed to spend a decent amount of time with as the evening went on, according to the photos in her post.
In her caption, Brittany called it a "fairy-tale ending to 2022."
One of the photos she shared in particular is getting her a lot of attention.
In one image from the Instagram carousel, Brittany and Jason are seated at a table and Trump has stopped by to give Brittany a smooch on the forehead as he passes her.
Considering how many people feel about the former president these days, there aren't a lot of folks out there jumping to be in her shoes in that moment — and boy, did online trolls run with this opportunity.
Twitter is having a field day with this photo.
As Page Six pointed out, more than one person believes that Jason is looking a little jealous in this photo — mostly because Trump has a convenient view of Brittany's cleavage here (though hopefully, that wasn't what he was looking at in this moment).
"@Jason_Aldean. How’d you feel about this? Your expression says a lot. Trump got a nice view though," one person tweeted.
More than one person said that they 'lost respect' for Jason and Brittany.
Though this country couple has never been shy about sharing their conservative beliefs and support of Trump publicly — fellow singers such as Maren Morris have been known to speak out against them — these photos in particular seem to be really getting people riled up.
Even 82-year-old Nancy Sinatra, the wife of the late Frank Sinatra, weighed in, tweeting, "ew. Yuck."
The Aldeans don't seem bothered by it in the slightest.
Since the party, they've continued posting on social media as usual, sharing more well-wishes for the new year with their followers.
We have a feeling that the kiss might not be something they ever acknowledge — whether Jason was actually feeling jealousy or not.
