Now that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have a wedding to plan, fans have been trying to predict the details, from where they’ll tie the knot to what designer will be lucky enough to design the gown. There’s also the matter of who will be in the wedding party, but if you ask Travis’ big brother, Jason, apparently, there’s no guarantee that the role of best man will go to him.
Jason says he’ll “hopefully” be the best man.
During his appearance on the Bussin’ With the Boys podcast this week, Jason said he’s hoping that Travis will choose him as his best man … but at this point, it sounds like there are no guarantees.
“Hopefully I’m the best man. We’ll see,” he said. “Trav has a lot of friends, I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.”
Travis does have a lot of options.
If not his own brother, who would Travis choose as his best man? Possibly his teammate and close friend, Patrick Mahomes, of course. He also has plenty of other good friends to choose from, too — Travis seems to be a very popular guy.
It would be pretty surprising if Travis chose to ask anyone but Patrick, though. The brothers have always been incredibly close, after all.
Jason also explained why something Taylor said on New Heights made him emotional.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Jason explained why he teared up when Taylor called Travis a “human exclamation point” while she was on the brothers’ New Heights podcast last month.
“The human exclamation point was the best way I’ve ever heard Travis described in my life,” Jason said. “I think it’s such an accurate statement. The dude just brings joy to every place he ever is, and people love him. And he makes everything better.”
“To watch them support each other, love each other, and get to this stage, and now to have this together. I’m just … I’m very happy for him,” he said.
Wedding plans may not be in motion quite yet.
After Taylor and Travis’ engagement news broke, a source told People that the couple is in no rush to walk down the aisle. Right now, they’re in “celebration mode” only.
“Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it,” the insider said. “It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open.”
