Jed & Katey Duggar Are Accused of Breaking the Law With Dangerous Gender Reveal Stunt

Lately, it seems as if gender reveal parties have been getting crazier and crazier, and the Duggar family is certainly no exception. In a new video, Jed and Katey Duggar shared their gender reveal now that they're expecting their second child, and let's just say fans have their doubts about how safe it is — or if the stunt they pulled is even legal.

Jed and Katey recently announced that they're expecting their second child.

Shortly after their baby boy, Truett, turned 7 months old in December, Jed and Katey shared the news that they're expecting again.

They've been keeping fans updated in videos on their Youtube Channel, and the latest one is quite a doozy.

They shared a major update in a new video.

But even though those reveals were obviously the point of the video, that's not what fans were truly focused on.

It was James' job to plan the gender reveal, and the entire family gathered for a bonfire. Suddenly, the song "Bad to the Bone" started playing as a pink car came speeding down the road and landed in a pond, with pink fireworks going off all around to share the news that the baby is a girl.

Wait. What?

Fortunately, no one was harmed in the making of this video.

As Jed and Katey later explained, no one was in the car — it was a junk car, and knowing the Duggars and all of their used car lots, they have plenty of those to go around.

Still, fans had their reservations about the stunt, even though it seemingly went off safely and without a hitch.

People were concerned about how they managed to pull this off.

As The Sun reported, the online chatter about the gender reveal wasn't great.

"Am I the only one thinking some laws have been broken here? This is mindbogglingly stupid!" one person wrote, with another person adding, "You mean I could have crashed a pink car into a body of water instead of just reading the gender results from my blood work at home from an envelope with my husband!? D—!"

They also shared their baby's name.

Now that they know they're having a baby girl, Jed and Katey also took the opportunity to announce the name they've chosen for her: Nora Kate. Her due date is at the end of May — with Truett celebrating his first birthday on May 2 — so it looks like this spring is going to be a busy one for these future parents of two.

Dangerous or not, this stunt is one that their family won't soon forget. What happened to just seeing pink or blue balloons?
