Jenelle Evans Admits She Has To ‘Force’ Herself To Be a Mother to Her Kids

Jenelle Evans is no stranger to being criticized for her parenting choices. After more than a decade of sharing her journey on Teen Mom, it comes with the territory. But after Jenelle made a bold statement about her parenting skills in a Facebook post this week, people are really raking her over the coals – especially after she admitted that she has to “force” herself to be a parent.

It all started when Jenelle patted herself on the back for putting her kids first.

As The Ashley’s Reality Roundup pointed out, Jenelle took to Facebook on April 17 to share her thoughts, writing, “I’m so busy but put everything on pause for my babies,” adding the hashtag, “#familyfirst.”

Rather than join Jenelle with more praise, she was met with plenty of criticism in the comments.

“Tell us you need a pat on the back without actually telling us you need a pat on the back,” one person wrote. Another commenter shared, “You have never done anything for your babies besides birth them.”

She only dug herself deeper responding to the comments.

Instead of letting the criticism go, Jenelle doubled down with comments of her own, but unfortunately, it didn’t do much to change the minds of those who are skeptical of her parenting skills.

“I understand parenting is tough and we all need breaks, but this comment is a trip, girl! We don’t put our lives on pause for our children,” one commenter wrote. “Your life should be spent around your children, especially at these ages.”

Jenelle replied, “this post refers to all my business I’ve been doing lately and just getting behind because I force myself to be a mother before anything else, like I always have.”

People were baffled that Jenelle would say she has to ‘force’ herself to be a mother to her children.

“She should have someone reread what she types,” one commenter wrote.

Jenelle wasn’t done defending herself, though – not that it mattered in the end. When she replied, writing, “I’m such a good mother I actually care too much about all my children,” it only invited more criticism.

Jenelle’s bold statement comes after she called 911 during a scary incident with Jace.

Earlier this month, Jenelle called 911 to report that her 15-year-old son Jace was “smashing everything in the house,” leaving behind “debris” and threatening to leave the house. When police arrived, Jace was nowhere to be found, and it’s not clear how the situation shook out with Jenelle once the teen did finally come back home.

Hopefully, Jenelle isn’t kidding about putting her kids first. Right now, it sounds like the best thing she could do for her family.
