Jenelle Evans Says Son Jace ‘Learned His Lesson’ After Living With Dad Andrew

More than two months after Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans sent her son, Jace Evans, to live with his biological dad in Florida, Jace is back home — and his mom isn’t surprised one bit. According to Jenelle, 15-year-old Jace really “learned his lesson” about father Andrew Lewis while living under his roof, and it doesn’t sound like his experience was a very positive one.

Earlier this month, Jenelle revealed that Jace is home from Florida.

After Jenelle faced behavioral issues with Jace that led to multiple calls to police over the past year, the teen moved to Florida to live with his dad, Andrew, whom he and Jenelle have been mostly estranged from since his birth.

But now, as Jenelle shared in a recent TikTok video, Jace is back home in Las Vegas with his mom — and apparently, very happy to be there after discovering during his visit that his dad is allegedly an “active alcoholic.”

She quickly received backlash for sending Jace to live with Andrew in the first place.

When one of Jenelle’s followers commented that she shouldn’t have sent Jace to live with Andrew to begin with, she fired back with another video. Despite Jenelle knowing Andrew “very well,” Jace didn’t, and it was something she said he needed to learn for himself.

“Jace was very like, ‘Mom, can I please go live with my dad, let me go live with my dad,’ and I was like, ‘You don’t know the type of person he is,’ and he’s like, ‘Just let me go find out myself,'” Jenelle said in the video. “So he went and guess what? He found out the type of person [his dad] was.”

Jenelle admitted that Jace’s visit became a ‘fiasco.’

Even though Andrew’s family insisted that he was doing well, when Jace arrived, he found out that wasn’t the case — especially after his dad’s fiancée left him.

“I mean, I just know from what Jace told me. I’m not gonna share too much, but it was a fiasco and Jace didn’t want to admit it to me but he finally did and he’s happier being at home,” Jenelle said. “And he learned his lesson. That’s all I can say.”

Critics aren’t convinced Jenelle did the right thing.

Although some commenters called this an example of “tough love,” others were concerned Jenelle potentially put Jace in danger by not checking out the situation herself before putting him on a plane to live with his dad.

“No. You KNEW your ex. Clearly you have no idea what he’s doing now or how bad and severe his addictions are,” one commenter wrote. “How a mother would not check into all of that before she sent her kid.”

Another shared, “Nah you don’t send your kid to deal with someone they shouldn’t be dealing with!”
