Jennifer Aniston’s New Haircut Is Giving Us Serious Rachel Vibes

Through the years, Jennifer Aniston has had some pretty iconic hairstyles, and it all started with the cut affectionately nicknamed "The Rachel" after her character on Friends. The mid-length, choppy style quickly gained popularity after Jennifer was seen with it on the show, and it's been cemented into our collective pop culture lexicon ever since. Now that we've seen Jen's new haircut, it looks like she's bringing The Rachel back — but this time in a way that totally works in 2024.

Jennifer showed off her new haircut on the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday. Not only is this 'do shorter than the one she's been wearing recently, but it's also impossible to deny that it looks very close to the famous Rachel cut that swept the nation in the 1990s.

Her hairstylist shared the details on Instagram.

Stylist Chris McMillan shared a video of Jennifer's new haircut in action at the awards show, along with some details about the cut in his caption: "Soft blunt perimeter for the length and invisible layers throughout."

You know, just in case you want to ask your stylist for the same thing at your next hair appointment.

If you're Jennifer Aniston, you can't trust just anybody with your hair, so it makes sense that Jen has been sticking with the same stylist for decades.

He's the one who invented The Rachel haircut in the first place, so it seems fitting that he's the one to bring the look into the 2020s.

Jennifer was never really a fan of the haircut, though.

In a 2011 interview with Allure, Jennifer called it "the ugliest haircut I've ever seen" and has talked about how high-maintenance it was.

This does make it all the more surprising that she went back to something similar after all these years, but hey — it is a little different, and tastes change.

She may end up starting another trend.

If the comments on the Instagram posts featuring photos of Jennifer's new hairstyle are any indication, people are absolutely loving it. We could end up seeing plenty of people sporting this style very soon. Short might be in again, and we don't hate it!
