Jennifer Garner Steps Out for a Makeup-Free Run & Trolls Call Her an ‘Old Plastic Granny’

Despite the fact that Jennifer Garner can truly pull out all the stops when she hits the red carpet, most of the time, we see her as she is in her daily life: a busy celebrity mom, actress, and business owner. Those roles don't always require a full face of glam, and apparently, some people are having a hard time getting over that. After photos surfaced of Jennifer out for a run recently, people are criticizing her makeup-free face, leading to a lot of nasty comments about the star on social media.

Jennifer went for a run over the holiday weekend.

The 51-year-old mom of three didn't let the rain stop her, either — she still got out there and braved the weather in the name of getting her exercise. Good for you, Jen!

When some people saw these photos, however, they weren't exactly thinking of her commitment to her fitness routine.

Critics left some pretty mean comments on Facebook.

As AmoMama pointed out, the Daily Mail's Facebook post including the photos lead to some comments about Jennifer's appearance, with one person calling her an "old plastic granny," and another claiming she "looks like a platypus."

"So you are saying Neutrogena is not a miracle product after all?" one person wrote in a nod to Jennifer's previous campaigns with the skin care brand.

Fortunately, others stepped up to defend her.

Plenty of people also pointed out that not only is Jennifer beautiful but that it's also completely normal to skip makeup when going for a run.

"Isn’t it sad that she can’t go on a run without everyone making a comment on how she looks?" one person asked.

Another commenter added, "She is such a beautiful person with a beautiful soul."

Jen has always been about keeping it natural.

"We all look at our faces more than people used to, and it doesn’t do you any good. You obsess over changes or how to fix something on your face," she told Harper's Bazaar in 2022.

"My advice is to look at the mirror less and be cautious when it comes to injecting anything into your face. Be very, very incredibly judicious and wait as absolutely long as possible to add anything. Don’t think that you’re 37 and you need to be shooting up your face. You don’t need to wear so much makeup or have such a constant blowout."

She doesn't seem too bothered by the comments.

… if she ever knew they were being made in the first place!

Instead, her social media followers know that Jennifer seems to be focused on her farm and the real things in her life — and we don't doubt she's planning her next run as we speak. Just as she should!
